Daniel Igbinedion swaps Castleford for Featherstone

Featherstone have signed prop forward Daniel Igbinedion from Super League neighbours Castleford to the end of the season.

The 22-year-old joined the Tigers at the start of the season on a two-year deal from Oxford but failed to break into their high-flying Super League team and has spent most of the campaign on loan to Dewsbury.

Castleford coach Daryl Powell said: "An opportunity to play regular in the Championship became available and Featherstone will offer him a great chance to develop further and I wish him all the best for the future."

Igbinedion, a former London Broncos academy player, said: "I've really enjoyed my time at Castleford and I'm really grateful to Daryl Powell and Steve Gill for allowing me to come here and train in a professional full-time environment.

"I've learnt so much but ultimately my goal is to be playing rugby league week in week out. I'm excited for the fresh start at Featherstone Rovers and I'm looking forward to getting stuck into training this week with my new team-mates."
