Key races and best bets

SPACE BOB - 13:12 Bath

SPACE BOB shaped well on debut when staying on for second at Nottingham earlier this month and, with improvement to come, he would be fancied to go one better if taking up this engagement. Divine Rhythm is much respected, though, after also showing promise on his first start, while Consortium boasts an eye-catching pedigree.

FILANDERER - 16:30 Ffos Las

FILANDERER has been successful on both previous tries over fences here, latterly when making a winning reappearance in this race 12 months ago and he's likely been well prepared for a repeat bid reunited with Sean Bowen. That said, this is competitive, with Toothless and Just Over Land fancied to play leading roles also.

YORKSHIRE - 19:00 Southwell

Course winner YORKSHIRE was caught wider than ideal last time and looks well worth another chance off a 3 lb lower mark. First Legion could have a big say if translating his recent turf form to all-weather, while it'll be no surprise to see Storm Free bounce back on return to this track (1-1).

GATINEAU PARK - 15:20 Stratford

A warm-looking race in which the market will likely prove useful but GATINEAU PARK did well over hurdles last season and this former point winner firmly appeals as the type to make an even better chaser. He could be worth siding with for a yard amongst the winners. Jipcot has more races in him from his present mark and is feared along with George's Lad. Aintree scorer Mr Hope Street is another to note for all this trip may be on the short side on seasonal bow.
