Wimbledon 2017 men's singles draw: Andy Murray in Rafael Nadal's half

Defending champion Andy Murray has been placed in the same half of the draw as Rafael Nadal for Wimbledon.

That draw means Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic are seeded to meet in the semi-finals in the bottom half.

Murray will also meet Stan Wawrinka in the quarter-finals if the seedings play out. Nadal is on course for a last eight meeting with Marin Cilic.

Federer is in the same quarter as last year's runner-up Milos Raonic - that would be a repeat of the 2016 semi which the Canadian won in five sets. The Swiss, favourite to win a record eighth title, opens against Alexandr Dolgopolov.

Dominic Thiem is Djokovic's potential quarter-final foe.

The out of sorts Murray, who has been struggling with a hip injury in recent days, will open against lucky loser Alexander Bublik - the world number 134 - on Monday with either Joao Sousa or Dustin Brown awaiting in the second round.

Brown stunned Nadal in SW19 two years ago.

Murray could then have to beat fellow seeds Fabio Fognini and Lucas Pouille, a quarter-finalist 12 months ago, in order to reach the latter stages. As well as Pouille, Nick Kyrgios is also a possible last-16 opponent.

The tricky test in Djokovic's path is Juan Martin Del Potro - the pair could meet at the third-round stage. The duo played out an epic semi-final in 2013 which Djokovic won in five sets.

The Serb, winner in 2011, 2014 and 2015, will play Martin Klizan first up.

Nadal will play his first competitive match on grass in two years against Australian John Millman but Stan Wawrinka appears to have a tougher test against rising Russian star Daniil Medvedev, who has been the latter stages at both Queen's and Eastbourne in recent weeks.

There are plenty of other Britons in the draw with Cameron Norrie drawn against potential title dark horse Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Meanwhile, Aljaz Bedene will face big-serving Ivo Karlovic.

British number two Kyle Edmund will face compatriot Alex Ward, the world number 855 who came through the qualifying competition at Roehampton this week. He is the lowest-ranked player to qualify for a Grand Slam in 19 years.

James Ward will take on former semi-finalist Marcos Baghdatis and Brydan Klein meets Japan's Yuichi Sugita.
