Saturday review
Kristin Inu scored 20 points to help Salford move to within two points of second place in the Super League table with a 44-22 win at Hull.
Inu scored two tries and kicked six conversions at the KCOM Stadium, while Ken Sio and Lee Mossop also touched down twice.
There were also tries from Jake Bibby and Jackson Hastings as Salford punished the hosts for numerous mistakes in a scrappy affair.
Hull remain level on points with Warrington and Wigan after missing the chance to go clear behind runaway leaders St Helens.
London Broncos kept their Super League survival hopes alive with a much-needed 17-4 victory over Catalans Dragons in Perpignan.
Kieran Dixon and Alex Walker scored tries as Danny Ward's men registered an important success in Perpignan.
It moves them level with Wakefield, Huddersfield and Hull KR, who all play on Sunday.
Friday review
Warrington will head for Wembley on the back of five successive Super League defeats after becoming the latest victims of Wigan's impressive late-season surge.
Australian winger Bevan French marked his full Super League debut with one of three tries as Wigan cruised to a 20-6 victory, a ninth from their last 10 matches which enabled them to draw level with the second-placed Wolves.
It amounted to another hammer blow to Warrington's Grand Final hopes and was hardly the best preparation for next Saturday's Coral Challenge Cup final against St Helens.
Certainly Saints coach Justin Holbrook - watching on from the main stand - appeared to revel in the occasion as Warrington boss Steve Price, an old friend from their NRL days, engaged him in a mock fight in front of the television cameras.
It was an unhappy return to the DW Stadium for scrum-half Matty Smith, a member of Wigan's double-winning team of 2013, who will now take a break from his loan spell after being ineligible to play at Wembley.
Thursday review
Fijiian flier Kevin Naiqama scored a hat-trick of tries as St Helens demonstrated the gulf between the top and bottom of Super League with a 36-20 rout of Leeds.
The Rhinos players formed a guard of honour to clap the League Leaders' Shield winners onto Emerald Headingley and proceeded to stand back and watch them coast to a six-try victory.
Leeds, who were hoping for a third successive win to banish any lingering danger of relegation, led 10-6 after 34 minutes but were pegged back level at the break and watched their visitors run riot in the second half.
