Joel Moon to retire after Leeds' season finale

Leeds' Australian centre Joel Moon is set to retire from the game after his final match for the club.

The 30-year-old announced in August this would be his final year at Headingley as he prepares to return to Australia but now appears to have confirmed that he will hang up his boots after the Rhinos' last match of the season.

Moon, who has scored 80 tries in 167 appearances since joining Leeds from Salford in 2013, had been linked with a return to the NRL but he told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "I'm not sure what I'll be doing but I'm not playing.

"I am joining the workforce I'll do whatever calls me. I feel like I've done everything (in rugby league) I wanted to do. My priority now is getting home with my family."

Leeds will end their 2018 season, bringing Moon's career to a close, if they beat Toronto - or at least avoid a heavy defeat - in the final round of the Super 8s at Headingley on Friday night.
