Ed Chamberlin talks to Harriet and William Bethell about the trainer's horrific fall last year and her continued recovery.
Harriet was left fighting for her life after suffering serious head injuries in a fall on the gallops on August 7, before eventually waking up from her coma five weeks later.
Her father, William, who has taken over the licence at her yard in East Yorkshire, admits that those closest to her were fearing the worst for a long time but, thanks to her steady progress and assistance from the Injured Jockeys' Fund, says he has witnessed stark improvement.
Harriet says she had to learn how to eat with a knife and fork all over again, while brushing her teeth proved troublesome for a long time after the incident as well.
