Richard Fahey guide to his Doncaster and Chelmsford runners

Fev Rover won't be heading over to Keeneland for the Breeders' Cup.

We had been toying with the idea but instead she'll be given a break before being brought back and trained for the 1000 Guineas in the spring. I can't wait to see her on some decent ground.

Here are my thoughts on the Saturday team.

1.45 Doncaster – Shark Two One

He was obviously drawn on the right side of the track when winning at Redcar last time but take the second out and he absolutely trotted up. He deserved a bit of luck with the draw having been in the wrong place or the big sales race there the time before.

He needs to step up again here as two or three of these are ok but while I’m not quite sure what he did last time – given the nature of the race – he did it well.

2.20 Doncaster - Mighty Spirit

I’d love to see her win another race and this looks her best chance for a little while. The handicapper has given her a break, leaving her on the same mark as when second at York last time, and John Dance sponsors this so it would be wonderful if she could win it.

3.30 Doncaster – Outrun The Storm

He was very disappointing at Catterick last time. I don’t know what to make of the run as he got himself detached before running on. The track here should suit him and I’d like to see him bounce back but he can’t be giving them all start again.

4.05 Doncaster – National League

He’s such a disappointing horse. He stayed on alright when third at Musselburgh the other day but works really well at home. I thought we’d have some fun with him this year but it just hasn’t happened.

4.05 Doncaster – Zap

The theory has always been he doesn’t want the ground too soft but he’s in the sales at Newmarket next week and we’re going to give it a go. He’s been running well without winning, through no fault of his own. He tries hard but keeps bumping into better handicapped horses. I feel a bit sorry for him.

4.40 Doncaster – Right Action

A course winner and he’s been in decent form of late, I thought he ran better than his finishing position would suggest at Wolverhampton last time. The problem is the handicapper has him exactly where he wants him right now.

4.40 Doncaster – Zip

He’s been running well, finishing second on his last four starts. He’s gone up five pounds over the course of those runs and we had no excuses. I’d love to see him with this despite the big weight, he deserves to get his head in front again.

5.10 Doncaster – Corndavon Lad

He’s making his seasonal reappearance after a small setback earlier in the campaign. The owner has been extremely patient and I’d like him to run well for them but I’m just a fraction worried he might need it, not through a lack of fitness but potential ring-rustiness.

6.15 Chelmsford – My Kinda Day

Another I’d be over the moon to see get his head in front. He’s like the others I’ve mentioned before, he keeps running good, honest, races and creeping up a pound or two as a result and getting beat. He’s very genuine and tries hard but we’ve nothing in hand.
