The Horserace Betting Levy Board has announced a reduction of £5million to £94m for its expenditure for the full calendar year 2019.
The board has agreed to end prize-money boosts as well as a reduction in the planned increase in the raceday services grant budget for this year.
It still expects prize money and raceday services to be higher than in 2018, however.
In addition, a proposed new scheme for the benefit of the British breeding industry is not expected to involve any material drawdown of Levy funds in 2019.
The board will consider its ongoing expenditure budgets in the autumn, and the likelihood remains of expenditure reductions before the end of the current financial year.
However, several projects will receive funding from the HBLB.
It will contribute £900,000 over the next three years to support the ambition of live sectional timing and tracking data at every British fixture by the end of 2021, and the board's budget for industry recruitment and education has increased by £1m to £3.1m.
Great British Racing will receive £1.4m to build on its 2018 National Campaign - while the HBLB will continue to support the Racecourse Owners' Association's Ownership Strategy Project and is contributing an additional £790,000 in 2019. A total of £650,000 has been set aside to support the new independent Equine Welfare Board and the Racing Futures Project, led by the BHA.
A number of leading bookmakers have agreed to share their betting data for every British fixture from January 2017 onwards.
