Kalashnikov is set to test his powers at Cheltenham next month after extending his unbeaten record in impressive style at Doncaster on Saturday.
The winner of a Wetherby bumper on his racecourse debut in March, Amy Murphy's stable star returned to the West Yorkshire circuit to make a successful debut over hurdles on his seasonal reappearance.
He locked horns with Emma Lavelle's three-time winner Irish Prophecy on Town Moor and after dismissing him by 10 lengths, Murphy is considering stepping her charge up in class and distance at Cheltenham on January 27.
"We're all delighted with him. He came down to the last under hands and heels, jumped it really well and won really well," said the Newmarket-based trainer.
"The front two have pulled clear of the third and it was exactly what we'd hoped for.
"He's still only a baby and we'll see how we go, but we'll probably take him to Cheltenham for Trials Day in January.
"I think the better quality of race he runs in the better he'll be as he's a strong traveller and had to do it the hard way on Saturday.
"He's a very straightforward horse and there's no reason why he won't handle Cheltenham, so we'll go there in January and hopefully all roads will lead to the Festival after that."
Kalashnikov is with 20/1 the sponsors for the Sky Bet Supreme Novices' Hurdle.
