Al Dancer gets the nod at Kempton as Dave Smith provides a race-by-race guide to Saturday's ITV7 game.
14:05 Lingfield - Betway Hever Sprint Stakes (Listed) - 5f 6y
MOSS GILL ranks as a real class act, borne out by some smart form last season. He's rated some 6lb superior to his closest rival and is proven on the surface. He's not burdened by a wide draw and should have plenty of tactical speed to see off Rocket Action so he'll be well found at the top of the market.
14:25 Kempton - Close Brothers Adonis Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 2) (GBB Race) - 2m
Tritonic may well be a warm order for this but he made hard work of it at Ascot and only reeled in Gary Moore's Casa Loupi in the shadows of the post. HONNEUR D'AJONC backers would have been cursing their luck over this course and distance last time out when the selection came down at the last obstacle. He'd run a fine race until then and looks a promising type in his own right.
14:40 Lingfield - Betway Winter Derby Stakes (Group 3) - 1m 2f
While Father Of Jazz has done all that's been asked of him to date this represents a step up in class. FELIX didn't perhaps get the run of the race last time out and will potentially be ridden closer to the pace. He got his head in front of Forest Of Dean and can repeat that here with a more enterprising ride.
14:45 Newcastle - Think Smart At Vertem Mares' Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race) - 2m 46y
This looks a fairly low-grade affair and LADY TREMAINE can emerge on top. She's taken a while to come to hand but the assistance of the Champion jockey should be another feather in her cap. Robin Des Theatre is a live threat and can make her presence felt.
15:00 Kempton - Sky Bet Dovecote Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2) (GBB Race) - 2m
CALICO was impressive at Ludlow on his sole start under rules and looks the type to make further progression. Connections are sweet on him and he can take the scalp of Atholl Street, who is looking to land the hat-trick. He's entered into the Sky Bet Supreme and will need to show plenty here to take his chance.
15:15 Newcastle - Vertem Eider Handicap Chase (GBB Race) - 4m 1f 56y
CROSSPARK was denied for a fourth consecutive time at Sandown last time out but he's had a really consistent season and is a past winner of this contest. Salty Boy has been coaxed along by connections and gets in here off a very light weight, while Little Red Lion is not completely out of it and enters calculations.
15:35 Kempton - Close Brothers Handicap Chase (Grade 3) (GBB Race) - 3m
A line can be put through AL DANCER's run at Cheltenham last time out with some smart form already banked including a fine third at the same course the time before. Perhaps most striking was a comfortable victory over Master Tommytucker at Newton Abbott, with that horse going from strength to strength since. Black Corton is an admirable sort but does shoulder top weight again, while Clondaw Castle is another consistent type.
