The series continues as Oli Bell catches up with rising training star George Scott to see how he's coping with the shutdown.

George Scott on life as a trainer during the shutdown

"At the moment Newmarket has been relatively unaffected area in terms of outbreaks of the virus and regarding looking after livestock it’s been business as usual in terms of our daily routine.

"The staff have responded to the challenges really positively and have been sensible about taking all the necessary precautions. We have to look after the horses just as thoroughly as before.

"In terms of racing if we do resume towards the end of April it will have very little impact for the Flat trainers but if we don’t get back then that impact clearly grows.

"It would be far more concerning if that date moves significantly backwards but you have to take these things day-by-day and wait for the news.

"My owners have been particularly kind, helpful and considerate, none have sounded any fears about their horses or particular changes which will affect the business for the time being."

Great Vibes about a juvenile filly

"In terms of horses to follow, James Garfield’s half-sister by Showcasing called Great Vibes is a two-year-old who seems to be a stand-out at the moment.

"There’s one we bought from Ireland in the February sale too called Bolly Bullet who we’ve been really pleased with since he joined us and I’d expect him to be progressive starting from a mark of 67."
