Gallops: All the latest from Newmarket including Eminent

Our gallops reporter has been keeping an eye on things at Newmarket including a big Derby hopeful.

Leading Derby contender EMINENT looked on good terms with himself as he went left-handed on the Polytrack on Side Hill. The Frankel colt is delighting trainer Martyn Meade, who firmly believes a line can be put through the 2000 Guineas, and moved well in company with SOLO HUNTER.

ULYSSES enjoyed himself in some work on the Long Hill chippings this morning.

With Royal Ascot just over three weeks away, Sir Michael Stoute is getting the Niarchos Family-owned four-year-old ready for the Prince Of Wales's Stakes.

The chestnut hasn't proved himself at Group One level just yet, but he is certainly going the right way based on his smooth Sandown win last month.

Today he came up the strip with KHAIRAAT, who is one of the most progressive horses in the yard.

Such was the authority the Sheikh Hamdan-owned colt showed when dotting up in handicap company at Chester that he is almost certain to also compete at the Royal meeting.

MAINSTREAM has been placed on his last five starts without managing to get his head in front, but looked in good form in some solo work.

The former Kevin Ryan-trained DREAM OF DREAMS appeared in good spirits as he came up alongside RAINBOW LEGACY.
