Louisa Carberry is set to saddle her first runner in Britain on Saturday when It's Jennifer lines up in the EBF & TBA Mares' "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle Finale at Newbury.
Married to Champion Hurdle-winning jockey Philip, she is the niece of former trainer Kim Brassey and has held a licence in France for nearly three years.
It's Jennifer has won at Auteuil this season and will be ridden at Newbury by her brother-in-law Peterjon Carberry.
"I wouldn't say it's always been the plan," said the trainer, who is based in the west of France.
"Her owner suggested this race a couple of months ago as it is for novice mares and she was qualified.
"If she adapts to the English style of racing and English hurdles - we're going to school her over some - then we'll see how she does.
"She's not coming for a party, anyway.
"Peterjon will ride her as he won on her and kept the ride, but Philip has done a lot of the work on her so they can both claim the glory if she wins!
"Peter is based here full time now and him and Philip split the rides."
