Clive Cox believes the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot is the "logical" race for My Dream Boat, as long as conditions are suitable.
Despite having been the first horse off the bridle in a Group Three at Newbury on Saturday, he did all his best work at the finish to take second spot behind Hawkbill on what was his first start over a mile and a half.
Cox said: "He stayed on very well, which he'd been doing over 10 furlongs and made us be confident that he would stay.
"He's been keen in the past so Adam (Kirby) was keen to get him plenty of cover, and as a consequence of that he ended up racing lazily in the straight.
"That meant Adam had to get very serious with him but he did stay on strongly in the straight.
"It confirmed that he stays and on his day. Hawkbill is a very serious animal so he didn't lose much in defeat.
"He's got entries at Ascot, but the Group Two on the Saturday (Hardwicke) would look the logical one, if the ground is soft enough.
"He's well entered up and he has plenty of options, including abroad.
"It's still early in the season and I'm sure he'll come on again."
