Aclaim booked his ticket to Deauville for the Prix Maurice de Gheest in August after a back-to-form display at Royal Ascot on Saturday.
Despite the going not being to his liking, Aclaim put a below-par run in the Lockinge behind him when only beaten four lengths in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.
"I think the ground was a bit too firm for him and it was a hot race," said trainer Martyn Meade.
"At least he put that Newbury race behind him in the Lockinge. He was out of sorts then.
"I thought he ran a storming race at Ascot. He didn't have the best run through.
"He had a couple of problems in running, but that will put him right for something like the Maurice de Gheest."
