In the absence of any open racing, the attention shifts to the all-graded meeting at Central Park where the consistent Banjo Lad (T1) makes plenty of appeal in the A2 at 6.49.

This Suffolk Downs raider has been out of his depth taking on open-race company since the turn of the year and a return to the graded ranks last month has seen him in a better light. Following a wide-margin romp in an A3, he has just been collared twice in the latter stages in a bid to supplement that success. Having been handed the plum inside draw tonight, his early speed should enable him to dominate from the front.

In the 8.38, Harlequin Missy (T4) has progressed through the ranks recently and is gradually finding her feet at this A1 level. She did nothing wrong when finishing well to fill the runner-up spot last week, posting a fair 29.80 (calculated). The make-up of the race could play into her hands, and this lightly-raced bitch looks to have a big shout if getting a clear sight of the bunny.

Dower Pat (T2) has hit the ground running since returning from an enforced absence due to being off colour on 11 March. His times have improved on each occasion in three comeback runs and, although no match for the winner, he produced a career-best 16.60 (calculated) last week. There will be no margin for error when the lids go up at 5.56, but Dan Brabon's charge gets the nod.
