Leicester forward Jamie Vardy clinched the Premier League Golden Boot with 23 goals despite failing to net during the final day defeat to Manchester United.
The home loss for the Foxes meant they missed out on qualifying for the Champions League, but the Englishman remained positive.
Vardy told Sky Sports: “It was disappointing, more the way we’ve end up losing the game, but we said the target at the start of the season behind closed doors was to qualify for Europe and we’ve done that.
“To be in with a chance of qualifying for the Champions League was even better, but unfortunately – over the course of the season – it wasn’t to be.”
On the Golden Boot, Vardy added: “I’m obviously delighted but it’s all about the team.
“I wouldn’t be in the position I was if it wasn’t for them. Luckily I have put quite a few away this season but it is all about knuckling down.
“Fortunately I don’t feel my age. My legs are fine and touch wood, I’m not picking up many injuries so it’s all about keeping on top of stuff and coming back as strongly as I can next year.”
