Sky Bet Punter lands £37,000 jackpot from £1 bet on Checkatrade Trophy

A Sky Bet customer is over £37,000 richer after his four-match accumulator on Tuesday's Checkatrade Trophy came up trumps.

Joe, an engineer from Liverpool, went for both teams to score in both halves as all eight involved managed to oblige to secure a return of £37,349 for an initial investment of just £1.

The matches selected and scores at full-time were:

Oxford v MK Dons - 3-4

Port Vale v Crewe - 4-2

Gillingham v Reading U21 - 7-5

Morecambe v Leicester U21 - 2-2

The bet was still right in the balance up until the closing stages of the latter game, which eventually went to penalties, but Morecambe's Elliot Osborne popped up in the 90th minute with a header to ensure it got over the line.

Joe said: "I place a btts in both halves acca every week, and it was total luck that it’s come off for me – I just picked the games randomly.

"I was following the games and it was so tense when I only need the goals in the Leicester game for it to come in. I couldn’t believe it when Osborne scored in the 90th minute. I need to get in touch with him so I can shake his hand!

"When I see big winners on social media normally I never believe them, and I can’t believe it’s happened to me. I’m still in shock so I haven’t decided on what to spend the winnings on."
