Patrik Schick set to complete Juventus move

Czech Republic forward Patrik Schick is undergoing a medical at Juventus ahead of a proposed move from Sampdoria.

The 21-year-old, currently part of the Czech squad for the European Under-21 Championship, has been given permission to travel from Poland to Turin with a view to finalising a transfer worth a reported 25million euros (£22million).

Serie A champions Juve confirmed on their website on Thursday morning that Schick had checked in for his medical at around 0900 CET, and added: "A formal confirmation of the move is expected later in the afternoon."

Schick joined Samp from Sparta Prague last summer and scored against Juve on his first start, finishing the season with 13 goals in all club competitions. He has won five senior caps and scored one goal.

He was the top scorer as the Czech under-21 team qualified for Euro 2017 top of Group One, netting 10 goals in nine games. They face Denmark on Saturday in their final Group C match, having lost 2-0 to Germany in their opener before toppling Italy 3-1 on Wednesday.
