1823: FULL-TIME: Newcastle 1-1 Liverpool
And that's that. A largely poor game, lit up by a moment of magic from Coutinho, before Liverpool again decided they didn't fancy winning today and gifted Newcastle a goal. To their credit the hosts worked hard to frustrate Liverpool and in the end were well worth their point.
1822: In case you were in any doubt before this weekend, I'd just like to reiterate that the title is going to Manchester. Likely City. It'll be interesting to see if Liverpool and Arsenal can really stay close to the top four to be honest. Fifth and sixth at a distance is my best guess.
1821: The sub nearly wins it as the ball sails over all Liverpool defenders and to the feet of Diame, six or seven yards out. Bodies are soon flung in the way however and the danger passes as one of them lashes it clear.
1820: Corner Newcastle.
1820: Into three minutes added now and Newcastle have a free-kick 40 yards out...
1819: Entering the final minute of normal time, Atsu loses control of the ball as he runs at Gomez. Meanwhile, Matt Richtie is named Sky Sports man-of-the-match. I have absolutely no idea why. Diame comes on to replace Perez.
1817: Moreno does really well to get to a long ball from Lovren and hoist it back across goal, where Oxlade-Chamberlain is flying in but can't keep his header down. Newcastle felt the ball had gone out and would've been furious had the ex-Arsenal man made better contact.
1816: Fizzling out, this, as Perez tries a lob from 40 yards which represented half a chance with Mignolet wandering away from his goal.
1814: Cheers from the home crowd as Moreno is shouldered off the ball by Manquillo. Far too easy.
1813: Solanke stoops to head just wide from a Coutinho cross. He's been lively since coming on.
1812: Fear not, Liverpool - The Ox is coming on. He replaces Salah.
1811: Fourteen attempts so far for the Reds. Same old. Not enough of them have been in dangerous areas as they force a throw deep inside the opposition half.
1809: Gayle's first contribution is to foul Coutinho - sort of - but he'll be hoping to do something at the other end having scored four goals against Newcastle in his career. Wijnaldum is then felled by Hayden midway inside the Newcastle half.
1808: Gayle is on for Newcastle, replacing Joselu who will never again score a more fortuitous goal.
1807: Lovren gets to it at the far post but Shelvey clears off the line under heavy pressure. Liverpool come again as Newcastle retreat deep inside their own half.
1806: Hopeless cross from Moreno from the left after some good interplay again from Liverpool. For all their endeavour chances have not come along often and Newcastle will begin to feel like a point - at least - is well within their compass with less than 15 minutes remaining.
Corner Liverpool after Gomez's cross is put behind.
1805: Both away subs contribute immediately. First, Firmino's quick feet unleash Gomez, whose cross towards Solanke is good, but Elliot is out to palm it off the head of the Liverpool man.
1803: Now it's Perez who wastes an opportunity after Newcastle had stolen the ball from Sturridge in midfield. The Liverpool man will take no further part as Firmino replaces him, with Solanke on for Mane.
Sturridge should've put Liverpool ahead earlier, while Mane has not been at his best.
Newcastle also make a change, Hayden coming on for Merino, who put in a good shift in the heart of midfield.
1802: Poor from Ritchie, who wastes a rare chance to run at Moreno by cutting inside and putting far too much on the through-ball towards Joselu.
1801: Cheap free-kick for Newcastle which Shelvey is all the way back into his own half to take. Gomez does really well under pressure from Atsu to find Mignolet.
1759: Sturridge offside and it's one of those former strikers can't stand - he's looking right across the line yet still can't keep level. That may be his final contribution with Firmino and Solanke being readied.
1758: Newcastle string some passes together at last but Manquillo's ball towards Ritchie has too much on it and runs through for a goal kick.
1756: Another man down, this time Perez, because Henderson ran close to him. Absolutely nothing happened yet we pause while he gets up. Ridiculous.
1755: Another very attractive move but Sturridge is offside as Salah slides him through on goal. Yedlin triggers a brief pause by going down thereafter, but he appears to be fine.
1753: Elliot is out very quickly to collect a dangerous-looking through-ball which Sturridge almost got on the end of. Liverpool beginning to look threatening once more.
1751: Strange player, Moreno. Not sure he knows what to do much of the time and it's odd to watch him weigh up options in loads of space and go long to Mane's head. Surprisingly the tactic does not pay off.
1750: Nice, sweeping move from Liverpool but Coutinho's final ball to open things up is behind Moreno. Perez is then fouled on the break by the same defender, who probably wins the ball but does so a little aggressively.
1748: Shelvey takes the free-kick but it's an easy one for Moreno to shield out for a goal kick.
1746: Ugly collision on halfway and the Newcastle fans, players, coaching staff want red for Gomez. The referee takes his time and then says yellow, to a chorus of boos. It's a little like Mane on Ederson but without the studs showing so that looks like a perfect decision.
1745: Yellow for Perez, after kicking the ball away. Merino had ploughed through the back of Salah around 30 yards from goal but escaped a booking.
Make it 35 but that doesn't stop Coutinho, whose shot hits the wall.
1743: Joselu loudly writhes around having been trodden on, then goes quiet and gets to his feet when the referee tells him, presumably, to be quiet. Pathetic behaviour but fairly common it must be said. He was trodden on by Mane, accidentally, but he was not in agony.
Back to the game and Atsu is briefly in behind but Matip opens up his lengthy stride and cuts off the threat.
1741: Merino is out smartly to block a shot from Coutinho, who had been picked out in space by Moreno. Oh.
1739: Should be 2-1 Liverpool. A wild swing from Clark allows the ball through to Sturridge, on his left, 12 yards out, but Elliot saves. The rebound falls straight to Salah but he's off-balance and can only steer the ball over the bar. Sturridge in particular should've done better.
1738: Atsu is back performing defensive duties as he clears a clipped cross from Coutinho, with Mane lurking behind.
1737: Wijnaldum can't quite climb high enough to get enough on a cross from Salah, who is playing more from the left so far this half.
1736: Nice work from Joselu down the right to allow Ritchie to cross, but Lovren is there to head clear in front of Atsu. Ritchie gets a second bite of the cherry but drills this one to Mignolet.
1734: We are under way again. Expect more of the same - it'll be interesting to see how, or if, Newcastle plan to change things to get on the ball a little more. Yes, 1-1 is a fine outcome so far but they've been fortunate and are asking for trouble if operating in the same fashion.
1720: Newcastle are 11/2 with Sky Bet, who go 2/1 the draw and 4/5 Liverpool. It's 9/2 that Mane scores, 14s that Liverpool win 3-2 and 11/1 for a 2-1 home win.

1718: Half-time comes with the home fans in full voice. They know they should be behind, and Klopp knows his men should be in front, but it's as you were at 1-1. Good news for those of you who may have backed BTTS in both halves, or followed DJ's advice earlier.
1714: Coutinho can't decide whether to whip a ball across the heads of the Newcastle defence or go for that top corner again, and the result is an aimless punt which sails over the bar.
1713: Less than minutes to go until half-time and a game defined so far by Liverpool: few sides can be so brilliant and so abysmal in the same game, in the same half even. When they went 1-0 up there appeared no obvious route back into it for Newcastle, except for the chance that they received a gift. Step forward Matip and Lovren.
1711: Liverpool cry foul twice - first from the free-kick, then the ensuing corner - after some robust Newcastle challenges. Nothing doing.
1710: Free-kick Liverpool near the byline, 10 yards in from the corner flag. Chance.
1708: GOAL! Newcastle 1-1 Liverpool (Joselu 36)
Not even kidding. Liverpool's centre-backs allow Joselu through the gaping hole between them and Matip's tackle then deflects off Joselu's shin and spins past Mignolet into the goal. Ridiculous. Liverpool's inability to avoid the big red self-destruct button shines again.
1706: It's all Liverpool here, with Newcastle unable to connect defence and attack. Joselu is a peripheral figure, as is Perez, and despite the efforts of Atsu and Ritchie there's no real threat coming from the home side.
(Cue goal)
1704: Clark does really, really well to poke the ball away from a zig-zagging Salah, who appeared to have beaten his man only to find the ball had disappeared behind for a corner. Lascelles then steps in to intercept as Mane seeks out a colleague on the edge of the box.
1701: GOAL! Newcastle 0-1 Liverpool (Coutinho, 29)
Told you he'd been quiet. Coutinho steps inside, Shelvey doesn't get close enough, and the Brazilian finds the top corner from 25 yards. Stunner.
1700: Fairly encouraging stuff from the visitors, but Sturridge hasn't been in the game and Coutinho could show more, too. Still, they're on top approaching the half-hour mark.
1658: Really good intervention from Merino with the influential Wijnaldum again threatening to break free onto the Newcastle defence.
1656: Wijnaldum then chooses the worst option as Liverpool pile forward in numbers, his slotted ball towards Mane far too firm and straight with Coutinho begging for it to the left.
1655: How are Liverpool not ahead? The corner is beautifully flicked onto the post by Wijnaldum, then Matip's shot is cleared off the line, and finally Mane goes wide from the angle.
1654: Corner Liverpool as Clark puts Gomez's cross behind with Sturridge lurking.
1653: So far Mignolet has been tested only twice and both from range, but this is better from Newcastle as Atsu and Ritchie go down the right before an overhit cross aimed at Joselu.
1651: More evidence that Yedlin's pace is key to Newcastle's prospects as Salah races through on goal, leaving his man for dead. As his second or third touch just opens the door, the Newcastle man slides over to intervene thanks to a lightning burst.
1649: Mane just about gets on the end of a clipped ball to the back post, but he's practically behind the touchline when he does make contact and can't do much with it. Liverpool slowly asserting with Henderson starting to orchestrate midfield.
1647: Lovely stuff from Liverpool as Wijnaldum and Coutinho exchange passes, before the former shoots on the turn. He can't get much on it and there are half-hearted penalty appeals as it strikes Lascelles on his trailing arm. No penalty.
1644: Better from Newcastle as Ritchie cuts in from the right and attempts to bend one into the bottom corner. It's telegraphed and Mignolet is down to save but that was more like it.
1642: Bitty. That's how I'm describing this game. Bitty. Liverpool move the ball so quickly forward that heavy touches are a given, while Newcastle are ultimately adopting similar tactics. Beautiful playing conditions but neither side quite on it, albeit Liverpool have looked dangerous.
1638: Perez looks to get loose down the left but Matip is across to deal with him. From the throw, Lascelles, clearly a confident attacking force these days, attempts a shot from almost 40 yards which he pulls hopelessly wide.
1636: Wijnaldum has space and time as the Newcastle defence drop off, but elects to lob a goalkeeper who is rooted to his line. Not a particularly sensible move, nor was it well-executed. Still, some serious warning signs here for Newcastle with Liverpool moving the ball very quickly from back to front.
1635: Yedlin demonstrates his turn of foot to get in ahead of Mane to head back to Elliot, before Newcastle get their first shot on target as Shelvey curls a tame effort at Mignolet.
1634: Big chance for Liverpool on the counter, as Salah releases Mane, who then plays it back to his colleague but just behind him. Get that ball right and it's probably 1-0 to the visitors.
1634: Sturridge is given the chance to stretch his legs as Coutinho fires a ball over the top but this is a scrappy start in Newcastle.
1631: We are under way...
1626: Right then, the teams are out. Fine atmosphere as you'd expect. My token vote is for both teams to score in both halves, which seems a decent 12/1 shot given what we know about these sides.
1613: And this...

1611: Teams! You must have the teams.
Newcastle: Elliot, Clark, Lascelles, Yedlin, Manquillo, Shelvey, Ritchie, Perez, Merino, Atsu, Joselu
Liverpool: Mignolet, Gomez, Matip, Lovren, Moreno, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Coutinho, Salah, Mane, Sturridge
1610: We won't be dwelling on that as it's off to St James' Park, where Newcastle host Liverpool.
I'm taking a necessary break but you can click here for all the Price Boosts and what have you, or here to read DJ's take on the game.
Reminder, David John is on for his 13/1 treble. He needs Newcastle to avoid defeat.
1607: FULL-TIME: Everton 0-1 Burnley
Hats off to Burnley for another excellent away display - this from a side who were poor on their travels throughout last season. They were superbly organised and took their one chance really well. Everton, well they were dreadful. Truly dreadful.
1607: Seconds remaining here and one more chance for Everton to launch a ball into the box. Rooney over it 50 yards out.
1605: More penalty cries from Everton as Lowton says it struck him on the chest. Waiting for a replay... and it confirms that's an excellent decision.
1603: A poor ball from Sigurdsson sums up a pretty pathetic performance from Everton. They don't have the players they need to get anywhere near their top-eight target and at some point something will have to change, whether that's performances through hard work on the training ground or, I dare say, in management.
Not an advocate of chopping and changing and this is someone's job we're talking about, but Koeman is under serious pressure and doesn't appear to hold the answers.
1602: Four minutes added.
1601: Ooh, Tarkowski gets it for his exploits in defence. I would argue Everton haven't made it hard for Burnley but no strong objections, it has been an accomplished defensive display in a league lacking in them.
1600: Goalscorer Hendrick is off, with Barnes on in his place. Excellent performance from the goalscorer who will soon be awarded the default goalscorer man-of-the-match award, surely.
1558: Best move of the match for Everton, in the 87th minute, ends with Calvert-Lewis spinning and firing goalwards. It's in a comfortable position for Pope and he stops it down to his right.
Where was this urgency an hour ago?
1557: Williams is penalised for a clumsy challenge in the box. Looking again, I think that's a penalty. Yes, I took a guess. Lowton's arm is high above his head and the ball strikes it.
1556: Handball cries from Everton but it's just a corner. It did strike Lowton's arm, but not intentionally. Not sure. The ball had travelled a long way... but nobody knows what the rule is and I'm not going to guess.
Davies' shot is headed away when destined, it seemed, for the top corner.
1554: Now it's Rooney's turn. High and wide from 30 yards.
1553: Not for the first time, Gueye carries the ball forward before firing a shot way over the bar. Everton make their final change as Sandro Ramirez - Sandro to his mates - replaces Niasse. Bizarre.
1551: Rooney picks out Sigurdsson in the box but he and Davies can't work out which of them should have it and the ball eventually deflects off the former and out for a goal kick. Little more than 10 minutes remain, plus what I'd imagine will be three added.
1550: Cork has the opportunity to break but Burnley are lacking speed in attack and Wood makes no real effort to go into a channel. Rooney then secures another corner as Everton bang on the door, in a fashion.
1548: Everton largely resorting to crosses now and Burnley still look fairly comfortable in dealing with them.
1546: Davies takes on one too many on the edge of the Burnley box but it's direct at least and that's what Everton need. Rooney then wins a corner which he will take as the pressure builds.
1545: Less than 20 minutes of the 90 remaining and still no sign of Everton really testing Pope, although they've perked up for the substitutions for sure.
1543: Wood's knockdown from a long ball threatens to find Hendrick in space, but Pickford is alert to the threat and out quickly to collect. Williams then concedes a free-kick after a late challenge on Hendrick, some 30 yards out and to the left of the area.
1541: The cross comes from the right this time and Calvert-Lewin's header is not far wide. Davies is now on for Vlasic as Koeman plays his cards at last.
1540: Baines is becoming more of an influence and his low cross causes alarm as Mee's clearance hits a colleague, thankfully looping into the arms of Pope rather than to one of the Everton players in close attendance.
1539: A rare break from Burnley and Brady should do better, having stolen in behind, with his cross. It needs to be low and hard but it's far too close to Pickford and at a comfortable height for the Everton keeper to palm away from danger with Wood lurking.
1537: Niasse finds space in the box but can't quite control the cross from Baines.
1536: Half-chance Everton as Baines clips one onto the head of Niasse. It's just behind him and he does well to divert the ball towards goal, albeit just wide with Pope across to cover anyway.
Rooney is on for Schneiderlin, who I've seen play better. Every other time I've seen him play, in fact.
1535: It's just over the head of Calvert-Lewin, who had found space in the box, and Burnley can clear through Wood. Surely it's time for the man on the left to act...
1533: This break allows me to tell you that Everton are now 11/2 and it's 9/1 that they win 2-1. That seems the only scoreline by which they can win, to me, so if you're minded to back the hosts...
Given that they don't appear likely to test Pope let alone score, I wouldn't recommend it myself.
Defour is up and play resumes with Everton forcing a corner.
1532: Pope is out quickly to head clear just outside his box, taking out Defour in the process.
1531: Baines goes into the book for bringing down Brady. Had to be a yellow once the free-kick was given as it was late and Burnley would've been piling towards the Everton goal. That's two bookies per team for those counting.
1529: Good pressure from Calvert-Lewis to force Mee into heading out for a throw. It comes to nothing, though, as the disappointing Schneiderlin fails to get the ball under control.
1527: Calvert-Lewin, booked earlier for a late tackle, shoots from 30 yards. It's deflected and easy for Pope to collect.
1525: It's all Everton now but they're still not creating. Burnley, like Brighton earlier, are very well-versed at playing without the ball and are expertly into their roles whenever they do lose it. Everton's latest 'attack' sees Baines fire one over everybody from deep.
1524: Everton are at least enjoying possession but surely it's time for a change which might allow them to take advantage. Ramirez, Rooney, Klaasen, Davies... any two from four, I say.
1523: Poor from Gueye. The ball breaks to him in acres of space, 35 yards out, and he shoots with his left. Of the myriad options, that should've been the furthest from his mind. It's a hopeless effort.
1522: Good stuff from Sigurdsson to set Everton in motion and Martina's cross is put behind for a corner.
1520: Keane's long, straight ball towards Niasse is much too strong. Burnley will take that sort of approach all day long.
1519: Another misplaced pass from Gueye, who is trying and seeing more of the ball than most but just lacks some finesse. Everton desperately need that as a shot from Vlasic is blocked.
1517: No changes for Everton yet but Davies one of those put through his paces at the break as the second half begins.
1512: Enable wins the Arc. She doesn't just win the Arc, she's destroyed them all despite being keen enough throughout. Stunning filly. And that's the end of the racing chat. Second-half a few minutes away.
1503: Before I nip off to watch the Arc (if you're without a TV, join Ben Linfoot's live blog here), the latest betting. Everton are 7/2, the draw is 2/1 and it's 10/11 Burnley, for whom Hendrick is 14/1 to score again and Wood 11/2 to find the net himself.
Niasse is 6/1 to score next and has looked the man most likely for Everton, who really need to get men forward in support of him.
Click here for all the odds.
1501: That's half-time and it's all Burnley, who are good value for their lead. Everton need a big turnaround in the second-half.
1459: Keane clears the corner but Everton can't launch a counter-attack. No cohesion whatsoever since the goal and if there's to be a second goal it's Burnley who look most likely right now.
1458: Chance for Burnley as the ball breaks to Cork, whose half-volley is deflected over the bar for a corner.
1457: Keane does well to clear from under the nose of Wood, who can't quite get enough on a return ball from Ward. Chaos thereafter as Williams' clearance hits a Burnley body and breaks to Arfield, who goes down as Williams tries to recover and is booked for diving. Absurd decision as there was contact, accidental contact, which we can reasonably assume was enough to put the Burnley man off balance.
He didn't go down waving his arms and claiming penalty, he fell over.
1456: Niasse fires a bobbling shot wide from the edge of the box as we enter the final five minutes of the first half.
1455: Everton's best period came before the goal and they're struggling here for any sort of cohesion. Rooney on at half-time, maybe? Klaasen? They need some sort of spark in midfield and some help for Niasse, with Calvert-Lewis increasingly on the periphery.
1452: Wood - the sort of striker Everton might have made use of - gets his head onto a free-kick from deep and forces a regulation save from Pickford as Everton try to work out how to break down their visitors.
1448: Corner Everton, again thanks to Niasse who has very much been their standout player. It comes to nothing as Schneiderlin fails to connect from 15 yards.
1447: Over half an hour gone and Everton are out to 9/4 with Sky Bet, who quote the same price about the draw and 5/4 Burnley. I wouldn't be backing the home side at little more than 2/1, personally, and it's looking good for David John again...
1445: Better from Everton as Niasse bursts down the left, turns back inside and tees up Gueye, but his shot is sliced wide.
1442: Nice interplay from Everton before Gueye just wants longer than Burnley are willing to allow, and the visitors force a corner through Wood's hard work after a long ball down the channel.
1440: Serious pressure on Everton here, and their manager in particular. Koeman was second-favourite in the so-called sack-race betting on Friday but the jolly, Bilic, saw his side secure a late three points yesterday.
Lose here and Koeman will head the market for which nobody wants to be favourite.
1437: GOAL! Everton 0-1 Burnley (Hendrick 21)
Against the run of play, the visitors are ahead. It's all too easy to get in behind on the left as Vlasic is left for dead. The cut-back to Hendrick still leaves him with work to do but his touch is perfect, as is the finish past Pickford. Everton behind yet again at home.
1434: Corner Everton, who so far aren't necessarily missing this man... even if it does come to nothing.
1431: Big chance for Sigurdsson again as he takes far too many touches six yards from goal. As Burnley clear, Niasse's tackle is mistimed but not malicious and the referee is right to talk to, rather than caution, the Everton striker.
1430: Gueye's shot is blocked as Burnley struggle to keep the ball. So far, freshening up this side has really worked with Calvert-Lewis, Vlasic, Niasse, Sigurdsson and Gueye all impressing in the opposition half.
1428: Arfield should do better as he gets in behind the Everton midfield, with two options to choose from. However, his side come again and it's unfortunate that nobody is on hand as Lowton's cross is palmed out to the penalty spot by Pickford.
1426: What a challenge that is from Tarkowski, just as Niasse looks to unwind from 18 yards. That had to be perfectly-timed and that's precisely what it was. Still, alarm bells for Burnley as Everton continue to pour forward.
1425: Another chance for Everton as Schneiderlin and Keane both go for the same ball, Keane probably getting the final touch in sending the ball wide. Really strong start from a side in need of a big performance.
1423: Burnley go over the top in search of Wood, who briefly looks to be in before that infuriatingly common phenomenon of the late flag.
1422: The promising Calvert-Lewis has been lively already and combines well with Niasse, whose hooked ball behind the Burnley defence is just too strong. Promising signs in attack from Everton.
1420: Big chance on the break for Everton and it falls to Sigurdsson, who should do much better from 12 yards out, passing straight at Pope rather than into the corner as intended.
1419: Baines is forced to clear behind for a corner after a fizzing cross from Ward. Keane is on hand to head clear but only for a throw, which Ward hoists back into the box. It's all very much aerial from the visitors.
1418: Niasse tests Pope early with a shot from 20 yards, crisply struck but straight at the Burnley goalkeeper who nevertheless does well to collect.
1417: It's a scrappy opening two minutes, neither side able to string a series of passes together with Everton shading possession.
1415: We are under way at Goodison Park in the second course of our latest Super Sunday feast. Let there be goals.
1413: With kick-off just minutes away, it's you last chance for a pre-match bet. Sky Bet's Price Boosts include Niasse to score a header at 20/1, with Calvert-Lewin 11/2 to score first. It's 8/1 that the latter and Wood both score if you fancy goals.
1405: Right, Everton v Burnley. I told you earlier to read David John's preview and his 13/1 treble is still on track after under 2.5 goals in the Arsenal game came in.
Find out why he's siding with the visitors at Goodison Park by clicking here.
1358: GOAL! Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 Leeds (Lee, 83)
Cracking strike from outside the box by Lee, who was denied - wrongly - by the offside flag in the first half. Awful, awful defending from O'Kane who passed the ball almost straight to him, mind. Game over now.
1353: We'll take advantage of a short break before Everton v Burnley, for which you'll find teams in our post at 1324. Back for that one shortly after 1400, with goal updates from Sheffield should they be necessary in the interim.
1351: FULL-TIME: Arsenal 2-0 Brighton
That is indeed that. On the 21st anniversary of his first day in charge, Wenger watches his side do the job with a goal in either half against a well-drilled but ultimately outclassed Brighton side.
1350: Final change and it falls onto the head of Giroud, who nods over after a shot from Sanchez had bounced up invitingly. That should be that.
1349: Cech gives it the 'it's fine, this is wide' shtick, after a curling effort from the edge of the area misses by inches. He probably had it covered but that's another late scare for the Gunners, whose intensity levels have dropped markedly.
1348: Sky Sports have named Sanchez man-of-the-match and that's probably fair on the strength of his second-half display. Lots of solid performances from Arsenal, no truly spectacular ones, and had perhaps this been kept to 1-0 there'd have been a good case for Ryan.
1345: Jansson has just been taken off on a stretcher at Hillsborough and not looking in a good way. Hopefully just a precaution but a huge blow to Leeds regardless.
1344: Mustafi is fortunate not to divert past his own goalkeeper, instead conceding a corner as Brighton end this game in the ascendancy. Can they make things really interesting with a goal?
1343: Good finish from Brighton as Stephens rejects an opportunity to shoot from 25 yards which he perhaps should've taken. Giroud then concedes a free-kick which Cech does well to palm away for a throw.
1341: Leeds aren't quite done with yet as they have a header cleared off the line, while Brighton threaten for the first time in ages as Murray gets ahead of Mustafi to head just wide at the near post.
1340: It's a final change for Arsenal as Elneny comes on for Xhaka with less than 10 minutes remaining.
1337: Annoyingly for my half-time 3-0 punt, Arsenal look to have settled for 2-0 here, knocking the ball sideways under limited pressure from Brighton. That isn't to say they couldn't yet go and put the icing on this Sunday cake but they're hardly throwing the kitchen sink at the visitors.
1333: It's a poor free-kick from Sanchez, which sails high over Ryan's bar. Three changes for Brighton (one which happened three minutes ago while I was catching up on Wednesday v Leeds): Schelotto on for March, Murray for Brown, Knockaert for Izquierdo.
1331: Sanchez has been the star of the show since half-time and Dunk leaves a leg out to bring him down before the pair exchange words. Sanchez no doubt will fancy this from 25 yards, dead centre.
1330: Arsenal are 9/1 to win 4-0 with Sky Bet, who offer 6/1 about Xhaka picking up a booking as he so often does. Trouble is, Brighton aren't seeing enough of the ball to force him into something silly.
It's also 6/1 that Giroud scores next, which is the most tempting of the three Price Boosts after he bagged his 100th Arsenal goal on Thursday.
1328: Changes for Arsenal as Giroud comes on for Lacazette and Walcott for Iwobi, who took his chance brilliantly and continues to progress. He could be some player in the years to come.
Slightly surprising that Wenger hasn't given Wilshere some more time on the pitch after his superb display in Belarus, but perhaps he's minded no to ask too much of one of England's more fragile footballers.
1325: Lacazette forces Ryan into another save as we move into the final quarter with Brighton trying but so far failing to make inroads. It's a question of whether Arsenal win 2-0, 3-0 or 4-0 here.
Leeds meanwhile have gone close at Wednesday, who remain 2-0 up.
1324: We will of course be moving on to Everton's clash with Burnley after this game and Ronald Koeman, who will be under serious pressure if his side lose today, makes five changes to the side which drew 2-2 on Thursday.
Burnley are unchanged from last weekend.
Everton: Pickford, Baines, Keane, Williams, Martina, Schneiderlin, Gueye, Sigurdsson, Niasse, Vlasic, Calvert-Lewin Subs: Stekelenburg, Sandro, Rooney, Klaassen, Davies, Holgate, Lookman
Burnley: Pope, Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Ward, Cork, Hendrick, Defour, Arfield, Brady, Wood Subs: Lindegaard, Vokes, Barnes, Gudmundsson, Westwood, Bardsley, Long
1321: Brighton are all at sea and Arsenal are enjoying this now, Lacazette only just offside as he looks to pounce on a defensive error. Wenger made nine changes to his side from Thursday night but it surely won't be long before we see Wilshere and possibly Walcott given their opportunity here.
1320: Here's the moment Arsenal surely put this game to bed...
1319: From the corner, Kolasinac has a header cleared off the line before Sanchez again hits the target, this time from range as Ryan comes to the rescue.
1318: Lacazette can't believe he's penalised for holding Duffy, who certainly had as much of the Frenchman's shirt, but Arsenal are soon back on the attack and Ryan is forced into an excellent save, with Sanchez looking to have found the bottom corner.
Brighton have lost their shape since the second goal and a third is coming soon unless they recapture it.
1317: Sanchez winds up a shot of his own this time which is blocked as Arsenal press for a third. Brighton briefly threaten at the other end as Gross turns on the ball, but Holding is on hand to dispossess the midfielder and this is fairly easy for the Gunners now.
1314: Almost three as Sanchez comes alive, releasing Bellerin whose cross is begging to be converted by Ramsey, that is until Duffy flies in with a header to clear.
1313: GOAL! Arsenal 2-0 Brighton (Iwobi, 56)
It's a stunning second for Arsenal, made by Sanchez who collects a pass from Ramsey, dances into the box and then backheels to Iwobi, who fires home from 10 yards. Beautiful.
1311: A lot of much higher-ranked teams could learn from what Brighton do without the ball (I'm looking at you, Liverpool...) as they again find their shape quickly. However, it's last-ditch stuff in the end as Duffy just manages to get his head to a Sanchez cross ahead of Ramsey, breathing a sigh of relief when it falls straight into the arms of his goalkeeper.
1309: Bruno does well to backheel a Ramsey lob out for a corner having briefly become disorientated. Sanchez drills said corner to the edge of the box where the Welsh midfielder is waiting, but he's not really prepared for the audacious and his volley flies high and wide of target.
1307: They're into the break at Hillsborough, where Sheffield Wednesday lead 2-0 having recovered from a shaky start. It's no more than they deserve and a brilliant way to respond to a very difficult week.
1305: Brighton's first attack of the half ends with a clever, spinning ball from Gross which is just too close to Cech. Arsenal counter and it's a fine blog from Duffy to stop Lacazette's shot from testing Ryan.
1304: Sanchez hasn't been at it so far and it's hard to work out just who a chipped ball behind the Brighton defence was intended for as the second half settles into a familiar pattern of Arsenal possession, which we did break from for 10 minutes after Monreal's goal.
1302: Back under way at the Emirates, into added time at the end of the first half in Sheffield.
1256: GOAL! Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 Leeds (Hooper, 41)
It's a deserved second for Wednesday after a high ball causes havoc, Fletcher heading back across goal where Hooper is on hand to head home. Leeds have a mountain to climb now.
1250: More chances for Wednesday who are all over Leeds now. At half-time in the Premier League game, Arsenal are 1/16 to convert for maximum points, with Sanchez 5/1 to score the second goal. It's 9/2 that the Gunners win 3-0 and 11/1 for Lacazette to score a header, while those spying a fightback can back Brighton at 66/1. Click here for all the odds.
1246: It should be 2-0 Wednesday, as Lee finds the net only to have it incorrectly ruled out for offside. Meanwhile it's half-time at the Emirates where Arsenal lead 1-0 after a first-half of so-so quality. A classic post-Europa performance in my book.
1243: Chance for Brighton, as Bong bursts down the left and combines with Izquierdo, who finds Propper. It's a difficult opportunity for the Dutch midfielder as he opens up to curl one into the top corner but it's not too far wide of Cech's goal.
1241: It's almost 2-0 Arsenal after a sweeping counter ends with Kolasinac cutting the ball back to Ramsey, whose shot hits Ryan's boot with the Australian diving away to his left. Let-off for the visitors as we edge towards half-time.
1240: GOAL! Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 Leeds (Hooper, 25)
A free-kick into the Leeds box is headed down by Lees, and Hooper is in ahead of the Leeds goalkeeper to poke the home side in front.
1238: Bruno is fortunate not to give away a corner as he clumsily attempts to clear, before Sanchez is brought down by Duffy who earns a yellow having left a foot in on the spinning Chilean.
1237: Wednesday enjoying their best spell against Leeds, who nevertheless look a threat whenever they attack.
1235: Holding slides in at the feet of Izquierdo to block his shot and trigger a counter, which ends with an impressive tackle from Stephens on Iwobi. Ten minutes to go until half-time and still just Monreal's scrappy goal to separate the sides.
1234: It should be 2-0 as Brighton again give the ball away in defence, allowing Lacazette to run to the edge of the box and shoot, powerlessly, straight at Ryan. He should have scored, or even squared the ball to the unmarked and incandescent Sanchez.
1233: Careless defending from Brighton to give the ball away just outside their own box, and they're fortunate that Ramsey can't quite find his balance to shoot. Arsenal do win a corner, however, and it's the impressive March who is on hand to clear.
1231: Big chance for Leeds to take the lead goes begging as Xhaka and Sanchez line up this free-kick. It's Xhaka who takes it, straight into the wall who he reckoned weren't fully 10 yards back.
1230: Ramsey and Sanchez very quiet for Arsenal so far and to be honest it's been a humdrum display from the hosts. It's all about getting the job done in these Sunday games post-Europa League, though. We shouldn't expect fireworks all too often as Lacazette is fouled 25 yards out.
1229: Leeds have had a couple of chances at Hillsborough so far, with Sáiz firing over from range and Phillips heading wide after a cross from the former. Good start from the visitors.
Back at the Emirates, Iwobi does well to shrug off two challenges but by the time he's done so, the only option is to shoot and it's an easy one for Ryan to collect. That came on the break where Arsenal do look dangerous, Brighton having started to boss things.
1227: Corner Brighton, March again pulling the strings to earn it. It's a deep ball which Duffy heads high, an under-pressure Cech forced to again guide it away. Another corner follows and this time Kolasinac heads it well clear to safety.
1225: This is an excellent response from Brighton, who again threaten from the right as Cech is forced to palm away a cross, before collecting the next one from Izquierdo.
1223: Free-kick Brighton, 30 yards out after a sloppy foul and WOW, March strikes the post. It's a training-ground move to open up space for a shot from distance and Cech is nowhere near it. The rebound falls to Dunk and there's a goal gaping, too, but he can only guide it wide having been forced to improvise on the stretch.
A real warning for Arsenal, that, not to be complacent and gift their opponents the opportunity to work something.
1222: I may be in the minority, but I support Brighton's methodology here. Of course, when you concede in a system which revolves around trying not to, pundits will say things like 'they're inviting pressure' but that's kind of the point and the idea is that it works often enough to be the best option.
I believe that Brighton lose nine-and-a-half out of 10 if they try to go toe-to-toe with Arsenal. Maybe it's only eight-and-a-half if they try to frustrate the home side. It just so happens that they've not managed to keep the home side out this time and will therefore have to revert to Plan B.
1220: An ounce of pressure from Brighton, largely thanks to March, ends when Cech collects before being fouled by Dunk. Arsenal back on the ball and looking to put this game to bed before half-time.
1219: Brighton protested that goal and Gross has been booked subsequently - unclear whether it is for dissent. The visitors feel that the ball went out of play and it is #oneofthose. If it's your team defending, you say 'that went out!' like it definitely did. If it's your team attacking, you say 'that was in!' like it definitely was.
Football.
1216: GOAL! Arsenal 1-0 Brighton (Monreal, 16)
I am some judge. Arsenal win a free-kick near the byline. Xhaka chips one to the back post, where Lacazette just about keeps it in, nodding square. Mustafi's shot is cleared off the line but it falls to Monreal, who keeps his shot low and finds the net. A good, composed finish from the Spaniard and the visitors have a mountain to climb now.
1215: Brighton are out to 16/1 despite having come through the first 15 minutes unscathed. Granted, it's been near enough all Arsenal but what exactly were we to expect? This was never about whether they can dominate possession, more can they nullify the hosts' threat and pinch one on the break.
I expect Arsenal to unlock the visitors at some stage but 16/1 is probably too big. They're far from no-hopers, Brighton.
1213: Monreal exchanges passes with Sanchez before helping find Ramsey, whose flick towards Iwobi is difficult for the Arsenal man to control. Soon after, he should do better when put through by Sanchez after a defensive mix-up, sliding a shot straight at Ryan when looking to open up his body and find the bottom corner.
Big chance, that.
1211: Brown this time concedes a free-kick with a foul on Ramsey near halfway. Arsenal are settling into their rhythm here but Brighton are at them very quickly whenever the home side try to get into the final third.
Hard not to be impressed with the side Hughton has crafted here. Greater than the sum of its parts for sure.
1208: Izquierdo looks a potential outlet for Brighton down the left and they're looking over the top for him when possible. His pace could trouble this three-man/five-man defence the hosts stumbled across back in the spring.
1207: Iwobi is the one Brighton are struggling a little to pick up at the moment, perhaps distracted by Sanchez whose first contribution is a long-range shot which Ryan has little trouble collecting.
1206: Arsenal get in behind for the first time as Iwobi slots one through to Bellerin. The Spaniard's cross is dealt with by Dunk, however, who is up to head clear.
1205: Mustafi needlessly fouls Brown to hand Brighton a set-piece opportunity and it's a dangerous ball, flicked on by Brown but past everyone and out for a goal kick.
1204: Arsenal swarm forward on the counter after Brown had briefly threatened for Brighton but, as we've come to expect, the visitors quickly find their shape again.
1202: OFF THE POST! Wow. After 60 seconds, Lacazette lashes a half-volley from 30 yards which thunders into the post and away to safety. That was a deliciously-struck effort from the Frenchman, who has four goals, all at home, since joining the Gunners. That would've been the best of the lot.
1159: About to go then on a grey day in London, albeit not so dreary as it appeared an hour or two ago. We'll focus on Arsenal v Brighton here but with details too from Sheffield.
1155: We're fortunate here at Life HQ to have Charlie Nicholas on hand and in his latest column, he makes the case for his speculative RequestABet at 33/1.
You can click here to read it. I like the opening line - let us all hope the great man has made it to the bar in time.
1153: Brighton tell us via Twitter that captain Bruno is 37 today and that there's 'no better way' to spend his birthday than a trip to the Emirates. Hmm. Roast dinner, stroll in the woods, watch some other poor souls given the run-around by Sanchez? That sounds better to me.
He's a whopping 100/1 to score first should you be a believer in that sort of thing. It's 33/1 that he scores for the first time since April 15, 2016.
1148: You may or may not be interested to know that a treble on today's Premier League favourites pays 13/5 or thereabouts. Arsenal should win and while Everton were poor in the Europa League, last week's Premier League win might do wonders for them against Burnley, who we once could've confidently labelled poor travellers.
That would then see your money rolling onto Liverpool. Ah. Their trip to Newcastle has thrown up some crackers down the years and we could be in for another. Newcastle have been good at home and probably should've got more than they did (nothing) at Brighton last week.
So, the treble. It's a no from me, but I do fancy the first two.
1143: There is also the small matter of Sheffield Wednesday v Leeds in the Sky Bet Championship. It's been a week to forget for Wednesday, who lost to rivals United last Sunday and then at Birmingham on Wednesday, while Leeds have lost two of their last three in what's been an otherwise excellent start to the season.
I don't watch enough of the EFL to be dogmatic here but Wednesday look short enough at 11/8, with Leeds tempting at upwards of 2/1. That they won this fixture last season (both meetings with Wednesday in fact, and both without conceding) only strengthens the case for an 'upset'.
1137: Every time I do one of these blogs I bang on about how good David John's Premier League tips are, and he keeps delivering. The great man had three winners from four yet again yesterday and while I find his speculative treble on today's action hard to fancy, his football betting opinions > my football betting opinions.
Here's our week in football tipping if you prefer a numbers-led evidence pack:
- MON: +2.75pts
- TUE: +6.8pts
- WED: +8pts
- THU: -1pt
- SAT: +12pts
Therefore, I strongly urge you to read DJ's preview before kick-off in just over 20 minutes.
1135: Disclosure time: I am an Arsenal fan. But I'm not one of those awful sorts who can't still maintain some degree of impartiality in this scenario, don't worry. I'm also one of those Arsenal fans who has had the stuffing knocked out of them - it'll take something like an off-the-bench hat-trick for Big Per to get me yelling like I used to.
Brighton are a club it's surely impossible not to admire, anyway. I did fear for them at the start of the season but Hughton is a really sound operator and already we've seen that his side are well-drilled and together. The sort of outfit, in fact, which can frustrate Arsenal. First 20 minutes crucial here.
1130: Jack Wilshere's performance in Belarus isn't enough to earn him a Premier League start as he drops down to the bench along with Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud, with Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette very much leading the way for Arsenal.
Brighton drop Markus Suttner and Anthony Knockaert to the bench, while Tomer Hemed is suspended.
Arsenal: Cech, Holding, Mustafi, Monreal, Bellerin, Xhaka, Ramsey, Kolasinac, Iwobi, Sanchez, Lacazette Subs: Ospina, Mertesacker, Wilshere, Giroud, Walcott, Maitland-Niles, Elneny
Brighton: Ryan, Bruno, Dunk, Duffy, Bong, Izquierdo, Stephens, Propper, March, Gross, Brown Subs: Krul, Knockaert, Murray, Goldson, Schelotto, Suttner, Molumby
1125: Hello again and welcome to our Super Sunday blog, which will focus on three Premier League games and one rather important one in the Sky Bet Championship. You're stuck with Ben Coley I'm afraid and that, I promise, is the final time I shall go third-person.
First, Arsenal host Brighton. Sundays are the new Saturdays for Arsene Wenger's men, who produced their most impressive display of the season a fortnight ago against Chelsea, before backing it up with three wins concluding in a 4-2 triumph at BATE Borisov on Thursday night.
Brighton have scored just once on the road in what's their debut Premier League season and you get the sense already that their performances on the south coast will determine whether their top-flight stay is extended.
If - and that's a chunky 'if' - they can make Arsenal their first away scalp, Chris Hughton's side will simultaneously climb inside the top 10 and end any silly talk of Arsenal as serious title challengers. In fact, should the visitors win by two they'll jump to seventh and nudge Arsenal down to eighth.
Team news to follow shortly.
