Champions League final: Emre Can back in Liverpool training ahead of Real Madrid game in Kiev

Jurgen Klopp admits he has no idea about Emre Can’s future as the German international returned to training ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final.

Can has been out for two months but Klopp says he is desperate to face Real Madrid in Kiev even if he seems likely to join Italian giants Juventus in the summer.

"Ten days ago I didn't think he could do what he did today," said Klopp after Liverpool held an open training session at Anfield. "He is desperate to play."

Can is out of contract at the end of next month and betting has been suspended on him moving to Italian giants Juventus. On the player's future, Klopp said: "I have absolutely no idea.

"We feel really good. It has been a very exciting journey so far. Now we want to bring it to the best possible end."

James Milner was also back in training after missing the final Premier League with a muscle injury, as the Reds step up their preparations ahead of Saturday’s showpiece final.

Croatian centre-back Dejan Lovren has urged his Liverpool team-mates to seize the "biggest chance of our lives" when they take on Real Madrid.

The 28-year-old said: "I would say it is a dream come true for everyone. I always dreamed of being in the final and of one day lifting the trophy.

"We have the biggest chance of our lives. For some it will be the only one, others will have more. Hopefully we can do ourselves proud. We have done a great job from the beginning.

"We really deserve to be in the final. Hopefully in many years we can tell our kids and families we did our best and won the trophy. We have nothing to lose. We can't wait."

Lovren accepts the Reds will have their work cut out trying to keep Cristiano Ronaldo quiet, but is ready for the challenge of attempting to stop the Portuguese claiming his fourth Champions League crown in five years.

"He has been playing this kind of game for 12-15 years," the defender said. "Even if he has a bad season, he scores 30 goals.

"We need to pay attention to that. But in the Premier League we also play against the best strikers in the world. We know how to defend as a team.

"We will stop him together. It is tough but it is a challenge I am ready for. I have been working hard."
