India require seven more wickets on Monday's final day to seal victory over Bangladesh in their one-off Test at Hyderabad.
Bangladesh reached stumps on day four on 103 for three in their second innings, 356 runs behind the hosts.
Mahmudullah (nine not out) and Shakib Al Hasan (21 not out) were the unbeaten batsmen overnight, while Ravichandran Ashwin had two of the three wickets to fall.
Bangladesh resumed on 322 for six but were all out for 388 inside the first session. Mushfiqur Rahmin top-scored with 127, while Ashwin took his tally to 250 test wickets.
Rather than enforce the follow-on, India hit a quick-fire 159 for four – Cheteshwar Pujara top-scoring with an unbeaten 54 - before sending Bangladesh in to bat.
The hosts were well positioned at the close of the penultimate day's play, with Bangladesh needing to bat out the final day to avoid defeat.
