17:00 Wokingham Stakes (Heritage Handicap)

William Haggas took this 12 months ago and can repeat the feat with MORE THUNDER who impressed when bagging a pair of Newmarket handicaps for his new yard in the spring and promises to do a fair bit better here over this stiffer 6f. Andrew Balding's Purosangue looks primed for a bold showing and could emerge as the main danger, although a good case can also be made for Aramram, Woodhay Wonder, Golden Mind, Symbol of Honour and Jarraaf in a typically ultra-competitive Wokingham.

17:35 Golden Gates Stakes (Handicap)

SERAPH GABRIEL is drawn a bit wider than ideal but is still given the chance to build on the considerable promise of his Sandown reappearance second in the spring. Glen To Glen has switched to Joseph O'Brien since his good second in a warm Leopardstown handicap in March and is a potentially dangerous opponent. French raider Best Secret and London Gold Cup 3-4 Quai de Bethune and Ernst Blofeld also make the shortlist.

A smart stayer on the Flat in France for Andre Fabre (dual Group 2 winner), SOBER made the perfect start for his new yard when successful over hurdles at Killarney 6 weeks ago. He makes plenty of appeal returned to this sphere for a stable that has won this race 4 times. Samui was an encouraging third in a handicap over shorter here earlier in the week and is feared. Wild Waves and Dallas Star are others in the mix.
