Peter Naughton Notebook: Eyecatchers and horses to follow from the TV presenter and tipster

Tweet Tweet has been added to Peter Naughton's Notebook following a promising second on debut at Beverley - check out the latest update.

Notebook horse Call Me Ginger had an unfortunate experience at Chester on Thursday. Jim Goldie's Ayr Silver Cup hope was upset when subsequently withdrawn Gabrial The Saint reared in the neighbouring stall.

Reluctant to load, he was unable to exploit a favourable draw in stall five with a typically moderate start. Racing in rear, which is far from ideal around Chester's tight turns, Call Me Ginger was couldn't gain a clear run when pushed along at halfway.

He ran on inside the final furlong and finished close behind the placed horses. The speedy four-year-old passed a stalls test prior to this outing and remains a live player at Ayr next month, especially if behaving better at the start and breaking quicker.

I interviewed Kevin Stott on Racing TV at Beverley and Tuesday and asked him which horses he was most looking forward to riding at York.

He immediately responded: "I'm really looking forward to riding Kevin Ryan's filly in the Sky Bet Lowther on Thursday."

Bellissime faced a stiff task against experience fillies in this Group Two but Ryan often runs his best juveniles on the Knavesmire.

The classy of No Nay Never cost £150,000 and is related to Frontier Fighter and Honour System, so it's not surprising she was doing her best work late on.

The only newcomer in a field of fourteen didn't break as quickly as the others but travelled well towards rear.

Stott eased around rivals two-out to ensure a clear passage and she responded well under hands-and-heels riding when all chance had gone. There is abundant improvement to come.

Tweet Tweet made a highly promising debut when caught close home by experienced market rival Rhythm in the second division of the 5f fillies' novice at Beverley on Tuesday.

Declan Carroll's daughter of Twilight Son (the sire had his first British winner with Spirit Of Bermuda at Glorious Goodwood) cost only 800 guineas but looks a fabulous buy.

Closely related to My Nan Nell, who won over 1m and 1m1f, this speedy filly should soon find a winning opening.

Well drawn in stall four, she showed good pace but was forced to sit tight behind the leaders and had to wait for a gap. Responding well when asked to win her race, she got the better of well fancied Beechwood Donna, who had the benefit of two runs.

However, that pair were passed in the final strides by Rossa Ryan's mount, who was dropping back in trip and needed every yard of this stiff 5f.

Vivacious Boy started handicapping off a very low base (47) and ran a mighty race on his first start outside level-weights events when second in the 5f nursery at Ayr on Monday.

Slowly away, he quickly made up ground and was travelling well at halfway before taking up the running two out.

He held a clear advantage heading to the furlong pole and appeared likely to give Paddy Mathers a birthday winner but was passed by the similarly unexposed Max Oclock (front two clear).

The well related son of Mayson should win a handicap, especially if learning to break quicker.
