The traditional powerhouses of women’s European football travel to London to take on one of the emerging forces on the continental scene.
Eight-time winners Lyon will have no fear taking on one-time finalists Chelsea despite being 1-0 down on aggregate. Les Gones have already beaten Arsenal away this season and have only failed to progress once from 13 previous European quarter-finals.
However, Chelsea’s phenomenal home record (12 wins out of 12 in all competitions) puts me off opposing them, as well as the shrewd management of Emma Hayes.
My play is to anticipate a closely-fought contest. Lyon concede fewer than 0.5 goals a game on average away from home (admittedly padded with some weaker domestic teams) but rather strikingly, they have a 90% clean sheet record in the first half.
Chelsea’s half-time clean sheet ratio is a lower but still impressive 70%. I want to be backing the HALF-TIME DRAW market at 11/8, which also keeps the possibility of a score draw going into the break.

It might come as a surprise to some that Wolfsburg are the 3/4 favourites in this contest, with their women’s side a far stronger outfit than the men’s.
PSG come into this tie a goal down and having to chase the game.
Wolfsburg average three goals a game at home and 70% of their home games hit over 2.5. So the simple play for me here would be a play on WOLFSBURG TO WIN AND OVER 2.5 GOALS at 7/4.
