Dennis Ceylan kept his European featherweight title after technical draw with Briton Issac Lowe in Denmark on Saturday night.
The two clashed heads in the fourth round in Aarhus and Ceylan was unable to continue after being examined by the ringside doctor and he kept his belt after the bout was called a technical draw.
At the time of the stoppage, 28-year-old Ceylan (18-0-2, 8KOs) - who outpointed Ryan Walsh last year - was ahead on the cards 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.
"I feel for myself and Dennis," said disappointed Morecambe-based Lowe, 23, the cousin of former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
"I wanted to win this fight as much as he did. It was an accident.
"It was just heating up and I’m gutted. Let’s sign the papers and do it again and give the fans what they want.”
