Gennady Golovkin ready for trilogy fight with Canelo Alvarez after defeating Steve Rolls

Gennady Golovkin insists he's "ready" to complete his trilogy with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez later this year after stopping Steve Rolls in the fourth round at Madison Square Garden.

The Kazakh fighter (39-1-1, 35KOs) suffered the only defeat of his career to Canelo back in September, when he lost his IBO, WBA and WBC middleweight titles - but he responded impressively in his first fight since by sending Canada's Rolls (19-1, 10 KOs) to the canvas.

"I feel great, I feel like a new baby," said Golovkin. "It is my style to knock people out. I told my coach, 'OK I see it now, I see, I just need a little bit of time'."

After a controversial draw with Canelo in 2017 was followed by that narrow points defeat a year later, Golovkin now wants to win back the Mexican's IBF, WBC and WBA belts.

"Everybody knows. I am ready for Canelo. Just bring him, ask him. If you want a big drama show, tell him," he said.
