Olympian Joe Cordina won his second professional fight inside a week with a two-minute stoppage of Sergej Vib at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
The Rio 2016 representative opened the Anthony Joshua-Wladimir Klitschko card in the afternoon sun, a spot occupied by Joshua himself three years ago, and needed less than a round to improve his pro record to 2-0 after a win in Liverpool last Saturday.
Cordina had short-notice replacement Vib (7-8) down with a glancing left hook after already bloodying his nose. Vib rose, but was back down again after a nicely-placed left hook to the body.
The Welshman is already scheduled to box on the Kell Brook vs Erroll Spence card on May 27.
"[Joshua] opened the show [three years] ago and look where we are now, he's headlining," Cordina said.
"Hopefully in a couple of years, I'll be fighting for a world title."
