Best to go with the in-form sprinter here, COMPTONSPIRIT, in a contest featuring predominantly out-of-form sorts. Brian Baugh's 9-y-o mare always controlled matters when a comfortable course and distance scorer last time and can defy a 6lb penalty. Her previous second here to the progressive Cara Gina also reads well. Dreams Of Glory looks the likeliest threat, having scored here in April and a fair third last time behind Crimson Queen over Newbury's 5f. Even Bolder was winning for the first time in over three years when obliging at Brighton on his penultimate start but this looks tougher whilst Volito was better last time and is a possible place option. Wooden King would be a main contender at his best but the 8-y-o's enthusiasm seems to have gone missing for the time being.

Wooden King (IRE) 12-1 (8-3) Held up, effort when not clear run over 1f out and inside final furlong, not recover, 11th of 12, 12l behind Go Nani Go (9-4) at Salisbury 5f hcp 0-80 (4) gf in Jun.
Volito 16-1 (9-0) Hampered start, chased leaders, ridden and switched left over 1f out, stayed on inside final furlong, 3rd of 8, 2 1/2l behind Sole Danser (9-9) at Warwick 5f hcp 0-70 (5) gf.
Comptonspirit 7-1 (9-2) Chased leaders, went 2nd 2f out, ridden to lead over 1f out, ran on well, won at Bath 6f hcp 0-70 (5) fm beating The Name Is Frank (8-3) by 2 1/2l, 8 ran.
Charismas Birthday (IRE) 14-1 (8-9) Chased leaders on far side, driven along in 10th overall halfway, 8th 1f out but no threat inside final furlong, 11th of 18, 4 1/2l behind Majestic Timeline (9-5) at Tipperary 5f hcp 47-65 gf in Jun.
