Richard Newland's runners are back in form so it would be no surprise to see Young Hurricane in the firing-line. No Duffer won at Warwick in February and should make a bold bid to defy an 8lb higher mark but Kingcora is proving disappointing and gets little respite from the handicapper. DUNLOUGH BAY finished well ahead of Young Hurricane at Newbury in February and deserves a change of luck. Dropped a couple of pounds in the handicap, this looks his chance as Lough Derg Way has an absence to overcome.
Kingcora (FR) 5-4fav (11-9) Tracked leaders, mistake 10th, outpaced 3 out, soon beaten, 5th of 8, 30l behind Crystal Swing (11-3) at Uttoxeter 2m 4f hcp chs 0-115 (4) gs in Mar.
Young Hurricane (IRE) 5-1 (10-12) Raced keenly, jumped left, led, mistake 1st, mistake and headed 3 out (normal 4 out), hung left and weakened bypassing omitted next, well beaten when stumbled badly last, tailed off, 5th of 6, 49l behind Farbreaga (10-10) at Newbury 2m 6f hcp chs 0-125 (3) hvy in Feb.
My Boy Paddy (IRE) 9-2 (10-12) Pressed winner, led narrowly before 5th until 10th, ridden along reluctant and lost 2nd before 15th, driven and not run on, tailed off and pulled up before 2 out, in a race won by Camden (11-3) at Newton Abbot 3m 2f hcp chs 0-130 (3) sft, 6 ran.
Lough Derg Way (IRE) 9-4 (10-13) Held up in touch, not fluent 8th, hit next, ridden after 12th, mistake 5 out, soon beaten, weakening when not fluent 3 out, pulled up before 2 out, in a race won by Full Of Joy (10-12) at Bangor 3m hcp chs 0-135 (3) gd in Sep, 6 ran.
Dunlough Bay (IRE) 6-1 (11-3) Prominent, went 2nd after 13th until 4 out, 4th and well held by leaders from 2 out, went 3rd close home, 3rd of 7, 21l behind Thanks For Coming (11-8) at Newbury 3m nov hcp chs (0-125) (3) gd in Mar.
No Duffer 11-2 (11-11) Prominent, mistake 3rd, ridden before 2 out, led last, hard pressed run-in, just held on, won at Warwick 3m nov hcp chs 0-115 (4) sft in Feb beating Mighty Mobb (11-10) by nk, 10 ran.
