Recent course winner Cascadia and the lowly-rated Chanceuse have a tough task on today's terms. But there's little between the remaining quartet at the the weights. Nick The Odds would have strong claims if taking part but was due to run here yesterday and Black Geronimo has shown his best over shorter distances so far. Black Vale won at Lingfield last week and is a leading contender back on this surface, though he found STONEY QUINE too good over track and trip back in November. The latter has since won again at this course and it's Keith Dalgleish's filly that gets the nod in a tight contest.
Black Vale (IRE) 6-1 (8-0) Keen, made all, clear halfway, increased lead 2f out, ridden over 1f out, just held on, won at Lingfield 1m 3yo clm stks (6) pol beating No Refund (8-6) by nk, 7 ran.
Stoney Quine (IRE) 8-1 (8-8) Chased leaders on inside, pushed along over 5f out, soon lost place and behind halfway, tailed off, 6th of 7, 25l behind Ain't No Surprise (8-2) at Wolverhampton 7f sell stks (6) pol in Feb.
Chanceuse 20-1 (8-2) Held up, ridden halfway, never a factor, 9th of 10, 9l behind Global Explorer (9-7) at Kempton 6f 3yo hcp 0-65 (6) pol in Feb.
Cascadia (IRE) 3-1fav (8-11) Prominent, led over 4f out, pressed from over 1f out, stayed on gamely, won at Southwell 1m hcp (0-55) (6) fbs beating Needs The Run (9-2) by nk, 8 ran.
Black Geronimo 5-1 (8-11) Dwelt in touch in rear, outpaced halfway, not trouble leaders, 5th of 6, 4l behind Saffire Song (9-3) at Southwell 5f 3yo hcp 0-75 (5) fbs in Feb.
Nick The Odds (IRE) 5-2fav (9-13) Awkwardly away, soon close up, ridden to chase winner 4f out, weakened final furlong, 5th of 9, 9l behind Beautiful Stranger (9-5) at Southwell 7f 3yo hcp 0-65 (6) fbs in Feb.
