In depth
Verdict
BROADWAY BUFFALO is bred to be a staying jumper so the fact that he's had the pace to win bumpers at Worcester and Aintree is a bonus and he's expected to make a winning start over hurdles. Ballyben was the easy winner of a Haydock bumper on his debut but struggled in very testing ground at Ayr so it could be Firth Of The Clyde who provides the main threat. Malcolm Jefferson's charge showed major improvement from his first two runs when second to King Of The Wolds at Wetherby and with further progress likely looks certain to get competitive. The mare Charming Grace was a 150/1 chance when a close third to Tesyoucan at Hexham last June but hasn't been seen since and Carlisle bumper winner Standintheband is likely to prove more of a threat.
