Verdict
A tough finale for punters with several running well but none in winning form. First Friday just failed to double his winning tally on the track when caught in the dying strides by La Oliva over a slightly shorter trip a fortnight ago with Blue Ridge Lane staying on into third. Trans City couldn't cope with the in-form Balmont Flyer on his last two starts but that's no disgrace and it's about time he was winning, a remark that also applies to NOVERRE PRINCESS. Joanna Morgan's mare has finished runner-up here on four occasions and couldn't have got much closer to Days Ahead last time. She's gone up in the weights despite not winning but this looks a good opportunity to finally get off the mark. The Pott Reidy wasn't too far behind in that latter race but his strike-rate isn't inspiring.
