STAND GUARD just failed to hang on for victory over 2m on the Fibresand at Southwell last time. Back over today's shorter trip on this faster surface, he can return to winning ways at the main expense of his chief rival Right Stuff. The latter has won twice on the Flat since 2009, both times over 2m including January's success at this track and he looks second best on that evidence. Bashama has the beating of Gower Rules at the weights but neither look to have much chance of winning taking on the principals on such unfavourable terms.
