Messire Des Obeaux picks up serious tendon injury

Messire Des Obeaux could miss the whole of next season after sustaining an injury at Aintree, reports part-owner Simon Munir.

The five-year-old, who is owned by Munir along with Isaac Souede, won the Challow Hurdle at Newbury back in December and has since gone on to finish third in the Neptune at Cheltenham and third in the Mersey Novices' Hurdle last week.

However, it has transpired Messire Des Obeaux was injured during that Aintree outing and Munir is anticipating a lengthy period on the sidelines for the Alan King-trained runner.

He tweeted: "Messire Des Obeaux sustained a tendon injury at Aintree (and) he will probably miss all of next season, we hope to bring him back 2018/19."
