Seefood won a bumper and two minor races over timber before a fine run over this trip in a Navan Grade 2. He was still in touch though under pressure when unseating his rider in a Grade 1 on the same track last month in which PONT ALEXANDRE announced his presence on the big stage. Very highly regarded by Willie Mullins, he's well to the fore in the betting for two races at Cheltenham and will probably contract even further after today. Sizing Gold was 3l behind Seefood at Fairyhouse in November though has definitely improved but Our Vinnie has penalties to carry for two hard-fought Grade 3 victories and will do well to concede weight to the selection.
Pont Alexandre (GER) 3-1 (11-6) Made all, jumped a bit right 6th, asserted from 2 out, clear from before last, stayed on well, comfortably, won at Navan 2m 4f nov hdl G1 (1) hvy in Dec beating Busty Brown (11-10) by 13l, 5 ran.
Sizing Gold (IRE) 4-6fav (11-12) Chased leader in 2nd, led 3 out, pushed out to aseert before last, kept on strongly, comfortably, won at Leopardstown 2m 4f mdn hdl sft in Dec beating Morning Assembly (11-12) by 3l, 12 ran.
Our Vinnie (IRE) 2-1 (11-6) Led, clear at stages, a bit slow 4 out, went on into straight but soon reduced lead with loose horse in front, strongly pressed and pecked last, headed, rallied gamely to regain lead on line, won at Limerick 3m nov hdl Grd 3 (1) hvy in Dec beating Pride Ofthe Parish (11-0) by shd, 5 ran.
Ally Cascade (IRE) 10-1 (11-7) Chased leaders, 5th halfway, 4th 2 out, ridden into 3rd before last, no extra in 5th last, kept on one pace, 5th of 9, 16l behind Jezki (11-7) at Leopardstown 2m nov hdl Grade 1 (1) sft in Dec.
Free To Dream (IRE) 16-1 (11-2) Soon mid-division, a couple of slight mistakes, closer in 5th approaching 3 out, 3rd next, soon no impression under pressure, kept on same pace, 4th of 11, 7l behind Fahamore (11-2) at Fairyhouse 2m 4f hdl hvy.
Seefood (IRE) 16-1 (11-10) Waited with in rear, ridden when bad mistake and unseated rider 3 out, in a race won by Pont Alexandre (11-6) at Navan 2m 4f nov hdl G1 (1) hvy in Dec, 5 ran.
Third Opinion (IRE) 9-2 (10-13) Tracked leader until led after 2nd and soon clear, reduced advantage approaching straight and mistake 3 out, strongly pressed when edged left and bumped rival approaching last, headed early run-in, rallied under pressure to lead again closing stages, won at Down Royal 2m mdn hdl hvy in Dec beating Curley Bill (11-9) by nk, 12 ran.
Anonis (GER) 11-4 (11-12) Made virtually all, attempted to refuse and slight mistake at 4th, mistake 2 out, soon ridden and strongly pressed, headed briefly approaching last, regained lead early run-in, stayed on well, won at Leopardstown 2m 2f mdn hdl sft in Dec beating The Paparrazi Kid (11-12) by 1 3/4l, 10 ran.
