Verdict

Although Tranquil Sea has won plenty of races, including at Grade level, he isn't the force of old and ran poorly at Thurles last time. CALL THE POLICE, an excellent third to Bobs Worth in the RSA Chase at Cheltenham, has taken some time to warm up this season and wasn't all that impressive for a long odds-on chance when landing a Grade 3 at Thurles last month. However, he's undoubtedly being targeted at the Festival again and is also in the Grand National so this looks an ideal stepping stone. Forpadydeplasterer looked to have the world at his feet when landing the Arkle in 2009 but has only won one minor race subsequently though he's invariably performed at the highest level. He shouldn't be dismissed but Magnanimity ran a shocker in the Hennessey at Newbury and hasn't won for two years. The Galway Plate winner Bob Lingo has a bit more to do though it wouldn't be a shock if he were to get into the mix.
