Verdict
VELOCE won three times on the Flat last year and made a very promising start to his hurdling career when chasing home the potentially smart Poet at Newbury. A repeat of that effort over this extra half-mile would almost certainly suffice here. Winning pointer Liberty Court was beaten less than a length over this trip at Fakenham last month and should be winning soon while Scarlet Fire will have learned plenty from his fourth at Aintree, though was beaten a long way. The others will probably struggle to make an impression today.
