Greyhound racing preview and free betting tips for Saturday night

Dogs expert Aoife Corrigan has four selections for Saturday night's Irish St Leger card at Limerick.

Saturday greyhound selections

  • 7.15 – Trap 1 Courancove Peg
  • 8.46 – Trap 3 Burgess Cutey
  • 9.05 – Trap 1 Bobsleigh Dream
  • 9.28 – Trap 6 Hello Hammond

The 2022 running of the Irish St Ledger with an incredible supporting card on offer and looking ahead to the big final itself I Fancy Trap 1 Bobsleigh Dream to give trainer Pat Buckley his third success in the classic.

After running an incredible race from an impossible draw last week, she is well drawn on the fence and if putting that to best use she can land the spoils. Of her rivals Mustang jet is running well when showing a nice touch of speed, while the English derby champion Romeo Magico has been improving week on week and if close to the pace will stay on stoutly, but I think this race will be won and lost at the traps.

My second selection runs in the opener which is an A4/A5 final and I am siding with Trap 1 Courancove Peg, who won her semi-final in great style the last day and if repeating that, when making every yard of the running, I expect her to go well. Trap 2 Cnoc Santini is the fastest and if hitting the front will be hard passed but Courancove Peg has enough early to lead the field and can make all.

My third selection runs in race 6 which is an A3 final and it's Trap 3 Burgess Cutey, who was hugely impressive last week when winning and is the fastest in the line-up. Trap 5 The Other Rudolf was also very impressive when winning and there's very little between these on the clock, with the draw swing things in favour of the white jacket.

At 7.50 I fancy Trap 6 Hello Hammond, who won the Cambridgeshire final over C&D earlier in the year and I expect him to get himself back to winning ways. Trap 4 Pablo Escobark has been impressive over this distance in the past, but Hello Hammond is the class act in the line-up and can run another big race.
