Alexander Zverev into Miami Open final to face John Isner

Germany's Alexander Zverev will face John Isner in the Miami Open final after seeing off Pablo Carreno Busta in under 90 minutes 7-6 (7/4) 6-2.

Carreno Busta, ranked 19th, had seen off Fernando Verdasco to reach the last eight and took out sixth seed Kevin Anderson in a gruelling three-setter in the quarters in two hours and 45 minutes.

Zverev, by contrast, swept past Borna Coric in an hour and 25 minutes and was on sharp form, serving 10 aces as he set up a date with American Isner.

After a first set which followed serve, Zverev immediately lost serve as Carreno Busta took the advantage but the German held strong winning the last three points, two against serve, to take the set.

The second was a shorter affair, the world number five breaking for 2-1 and 5-2 before serving to love for the match.

Isner saw off Juan Martin del Potro 6-1 7-6 (7/2) in his semi-final.

The 32-year-old broke the Argentinian twice in the first set which he took in 27 minutes, while the second went to serve forcing a tiebreak.

Del Potro was immediately on the backfoot after being broken in the first game and then was broken twice again as Isner took the match.
