All-French final to South of France Open in Montpellier

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga served up an all-French final at the South of France Open in Montpellier with a straight-sets semi-final win on Saturday.

The 33-year-old Tsonga brushed aside Romanian Radu Albot 6-1 6-3 and will next face compatriot Pierre-Hugues Herbert for the title.

Tsonga needed just 26 minutes to wrap up the first set but ran into some resistance in the second when he was broken by the world number 90 to trail 2-0.

Tsonga responded by winning four consecutive games before going on to secure victory and book his place in the 29th tour final of his career.

Tsonga told a press conference: "It was a good match from my side. I played good tennis and was very aggressive. I hope to be able to play the same tennis in the final."

Doubles specialist Herbert secured a fine 6-2 7-5 win over Czech Tomas Berdych, who had reached the final of the same event in 2012.

Herbert raced into a 4-0 lead in the first set and never let slip his advantage as he moved a win away from his first singles tour title.

Russia's Daniil Medvedev reached the final of the Sofia Open in Bulgaria with a 6-2 6-4 win over Gael Monfils.

Medvedev, who is bidding to win the fourth tour title of his career, was always in control against the former world number six, wrapping up victory in one hour and 16 minutes.

Medvedev will play Marton Fucsovics in the final on Sunday after the Hungarian defeated Italy's Matteo Berrettini 5-7 7-5 6-3.

At the Cordoba Open, Guido Pella set up an all-Argentine final after beating Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas.

Cuevas, who earlier swept aside Aljaz Bedene in their weather-delayed quarter-final, took the second set but Pella produced a lethal forehand to advance to his fourth ATP Tour final 6-1 3-6 6-3.

Pella will face Juan Ignacio Londero - appearing in his first ATP final - after his countryman defeated Federico Delbonis 6-1 6-0 in one hour.
