Andrea Seppi loses to Albert Ramos-Vinolas in Shenzhen Open


Italy's Andreas Seppi lost to Albert Ramos-Vinolas 7-6 (7/5) 6-7 (7/9) 3-6 in round one of the Shenzhen Open on Monday.

Seppi, the eighth seed, squandered two match points in the second-set tie-break before being broken twice in the decider, with Spain's Ramos-Vinolas winning through in two hours and 48 minutes.

Viktor Troicki of Serbia advanced as Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez retired hurt while trailing 5-3 in the first set.

Briton Cameron Norrie beat wild card Di Wu of China 6-2 6-2 and qualifier Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan defeated America's Denis Kudla 6-1 6-3.

France's Pierre-Hugues Herbert beat Serbia's Dusan Lajovic 6-4 6-3 in the day's other match.

Australia's Bernard Tomic beat USA's Bradley Klahn 6-7 (6/8) 7-6 (7/3) 6-2 in round one of the Chengdu Open.

Joao Sousa of Portugal defeated Tim Smyczek, another American, 7-6 (7/1) 6-7 (7/9) 6-3.
