Fifteen-year-old Amanda Anisimova and fellow American Tennys Sandgren will both make their Grand Slam main-draw debut in this month’s French Open.
The pair both earned invites to Roland Garros by winning the USTA’s Wild Card Challenge.
Anisimova, runner-up in the girls’ singles at last year’s tournament, will be the youngest main-draw participant since Alize Cornet made her debut in 2005 and the first player born in 2001 to contest a Grand Slam main draw.
The world number 264 recently made back-to-back claycourt finals on the ITF Pro Circuit in the US and clinched the world card when Victoria Duval and Caroline Dolehide both lost in Charleston this week.
Meanwhile, Sandgren will also head to Roland Garros after he won the men’s challenge.
Sandgren’s quarter-final win in Savannah on Friday coupled with defeat for Dennis Novikov settled the race in the 25-year-old’s favour.
Each Wild Card Challenge took in a host of tournaments over the past month with the American who accumulated the most ranking points over the period earning their place in Paris.
