Ben Murdoch-Masila scored two tries as Salford moved back into the top four of the Betfred Super League with an impressive 30-10 victory over bottom club Widnes on Sunday.
The in-form second rower - the Red Devils' top try-scorer this season - touched down in both halves for Ian Watson's men at the AJ Bell Stadium.
Inspired by half-backs Michael Dobson and Robert Lui, Salford withstood a second-half Vikings fightback before finishing the game strongly.
In Sunday's other game, Mason Caton-Brown scored his first hat-trick for Wakefield while Craig Huby celebrated his 300th career appearance with a try as Trinity came from behind to put an end to a run of three successive defeats with a 30-10 win against Catalans Dragons.
Trinity's victory, completing a season's double having won 38-18 in Perpignan earlier in April, leapfrogs them above their opponents in the table.

On Saturday, scintillating Castleford roared back to the top of the table in style with their biggest-ever Super League win over Wigan - 54-4.
Scrum-half Luke Gale needed to pass a head test before kick-off to take his place in the Tigers side and he gave the Warriors an almighty headache with a 20-point haul, comprising eight goals from nine attempts and one of their nine tries.
A 54-4 rout enabled Castleford to complete the double over the champions and demonstrate a sizzling return to form after back-to-back defeats by St Helens and Hull had cast some doubt over their title credentials.
The victory topped the Yorkshire club's previous biggest win over Wigan, a 42-14 success in 2015, and followed a similar 66-10 rout of Leeds earlier this year.
Hull stepped up their title bid in emphatic fashion with a third successive win as they beat Warrington 34-10 on Friday.
The Black and Whites followed up their victory over previous leaders Castleford by condemning Warrington to a first defeat in six matches with an impressive 34-10 success at the KCOM Stadium.
Centre Jake Connor was the hero for Hull, scoring the first try and providing the final passes for two more, while the game management of scrum-half Marc Sneyd ensured the home side were able to build on a slender 14-10 interval lead, with stand-off Albert Kelly scoring two tries to take his tally for the season to 11.
St Helens picked up their fifth Super League win of the season with a convincing 28-6 victory over a Leigh side who have now lost their last seven games in all competitions.
Mark Percival scored a try and kicked four goals as Saints gained revenge for a 24-16 defeat in the reverse fixture in February.
There was little to choose between the sides at half-time after Saints had fought back from 6-0 down to lead 12-6. But it was a different story after the break as Leigh, who have not won in St Helens since 1982, were swept aside.
On Thursday night a patched-up Huddersfield caused one of the upsets of the season as they bounced back from their humiliating Challenge Cup exit to stun Leeds 31-12 at Headingley.
The Giants, forced to include five academy products due to a glut of injuries, dug deep to grind out their first win in 10 games to deny their hosts the chance to go top of the table.
Jake Mamo , Kruise Leeming, Dale Ferguson, Darnell McIntosh and Oliver Roberts all crossed for Huddersfield while Leeds' try-scorers were Matt Parcell and Joel Moon.
