Marc Sneyd extends stay with Hull FC

Hull have taken up the option of a two-year contract extension to keep scrum-half Marc Sneyd at the KCOM Stadium until the end of 2019.

The 26-year-old former Salford and Castleford half-back, who joined the Airlie Birds in 2015, was second only to Luke Gale in the Super League goals and points scoring charts in 2016 and was man of the match in his side's Challenge Cup final triumph over Warrington.

Sneyd, who was out of contract at the end of 2017, said: "I'm really happy to be staying at the club and to take up to the option.

"We had a good year last year and the whole team played really well, which made my job a lot easier.

"A few lads recently have extended their deals with the club and it shows that people realise how good it is here and what potential we have. Hopefully we can have similar success to what we had last year."

Hull coach Lee Radford added: "I'm really pleased Marc has agreed to extend his contract with the club."

"I think his game management has been developing over the last couple of seasons and it's only going to get better.

"I know Marc has international aspirations and hopefully with some consistent form over the next couple of seasons, he can achieve that with us.

"He's a big part of the group and really seems to have found a home here. He's tasted some success last season and I know along with the rest of the group he's desperate for some more."
