Tom Makinson - on Golden Boot shortlist

England winger Tom Makinson's hat-trick heroics have earned him a place on a four-man shortlist for the 2018 Golden Boot.

The St Helens player has made a remarkable entry into international rugby league in 2018 with four tries in his three games so far, all of them against New Zealand.

His treble at Anfield on Sunday helped England to a series-clinching 20-14 victory.

Makinson is joined on the list by his England team-mate Elliott Whitehead, Kiwis skipper Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Australia full-back James Tedesco.

The award, which recognises the most outstanding performances in international matches, will be presented at the Rugby League International Federation Golden Boot award dinner in Leeds on Wednesday.
