Former Wales captain Craig Kopczak leaves Salford

Former Wales captain Craig Kopczak has left Salford after they accepted an undisclosed transfer fee for him.

The 31-year-old former Bradford and Huddersfield prop has spent the last three seasons with the Red Devils but is now expected to join Wakefield.

Salford are set to have a new-look pack in 2019, having also lost Luke Burgess to retirement, Lama Tasi to Warrington and Ryan Lannon to Hull KR, and have been linked with a move for former Wigan prop Gil Dudson, who has left Widnes.

Salford director of rugby and operations Ian Blease said: "Maintaining players who are fully committed to this club is absolutely essential to the coach and myself moving forward in the 2019 season.

"This club is determined to build that motivated team to compete at the top end of the Betfred Super League."
