Dan Sarginson - returning to Wigan

Dan Sarginson has signed a two-year deal with Wigan

Wigan have brought Dan Sarginson back to the club on a two-year deal.

The England international spent three seasons at the DW Stadium but swapped Super League for the Gold Coast Titans in the NRL after helping the Warriors to glory in last year's Grand Final.

However, he made only five appearances before his 2017 season was cut short by a shoulder injury in May, with Sarginson now opting for a return to Wigan after being released by the Titans.

The 24-year-old said: "I can't wait to get back to the club I have so many fond memories with including the greatest moment of my career, winning the 2016 Grand Final.

"Although it didn't work out the way I would have liked due to injuries I'm glad to have had the experience of playing the in NRL."

Sarginson, who can play at centre, full-back or on the wing, scored 26 tries in 82 games during his first spell at Wigan after moving to the club from London Broncos and has gone on to play three times for England.

Wigan coach Shaun Wane added: "Dan joined us as a youngster in 2014 who was relatively new to the game and left us as a Grand Final winner and an England international.

"He knows what we're all about and - having spoken with him recently - I know just how keen he is to play regularly, compete for honours and get started with pre-season training."
