Ryan Hampshire signs for Wakefield Trinity

Wakefield have signed utility back Ryan Hampshire on a one-year deal.

The Wakefield-born 22-year-old, formerly of Wigan and Castleford, was on the books of Leigh last season.

Hampshire told the club's official website: "I am really excited to be able to represent the club that I have followed since I was a young boy, and it has come a lot earlier than expected."

Trinity head coach Chris Chester added: "Ryan certainly gives us some genuine competition in the halves with Finny (Liam Finn), Milky (Jacob Miller) and also Kyle Wood. Really pleased, he is a fantastic young player and looking forward to working with him."
