Verdict

John Gosden boasts an impressive recent record in the Listed Cocked Hat Stakes having saddled no fewer than five winners since 2009, including Khalidi (2017) and Private Secretary (2019). He relies upon the fast-improving Celestran on this occasion. An easy winner of a 1m2f Class 4 handicap at Yarmouth earlier this month, this Dansili colt could prove capable of making his mark over a slightly longer trip. However, his three opponents - Emissary, Fiji and KHALIFA SAT - are also previous winners. With some rain in the forecast from Friday onward, we'll chance that there's enough 'juice in the ground' for the course proven Andrew Balding-trained runner.
